My wife and I were in town visiting and just happened to be walking past. We split a sandwich and had cheesecake for dessert. Amazing food. The cheesecake was the best we have ever had. Fine the Kickerbocker and eat here when touring the city!

I have always loved Knickerbocker Bar and Grill as a classic NYC restaurant...great food, drink and ambiance! This was the third time I have been here with family. Tonight was a significant family/friend celebration....and it did not disappoint!! The service, food and ambiance were all excellent. The floor manager made double tables happen and our server was above and beyond... More

"The Knick" As we've come to call it over the years is a favorite of ours and it seems many villagers as well.NYU professors, families with kids and local celebrities eat here frequently, as well as politicians. You'll see many older single diners eating here. Some have been coming for a few decades, and always order the same thing, they... More

We visited for lunch on a Saturday and learned that in addition to lunch they had a brunch menu. The food was very good as was the service. The menu had a variety of selections. Some of us had brunch and some ordered from the regular lunch menu. I had been here for dinner several years ago and the steaks... More

Had the chicken pot pie and it was fantastic - service was great but a little slow, granted it was xmas eve and the joint was absolutely packed. Great place to go out, have a wonderful meal, and walk it off in the surrounding neighborhood. Be warned it will not be an inexpensive meal though...

Went for a special occasion dinner during the holidays. Very traditional bar & grill; corner property with paneling, red leather booths, and tables. Our food was excellent. Great service and they let us bring a special bottle of wine. Highly Recommend.

We were looking for a meal on Christmas Day, when so few restaurants are open. We made reservations here and, upon arrival, noticed how crowded it was. The tables were jammed together, with barely any room to move. It is an older, local crowd. We ordered the tilefish special, which was delicious, and the prime rib. They did their best... More

Sadly our experience was not as we had hoped. We had high expectations of coming here. We arrived early and the resturant was very busy and we had to wait a while. In the meantime, We went to the bar to order drinks. Whilst sat here, one of the bar staff dropped a bottle of red wine and it went... More

We had reservations for 4. We were promptly greeted and seated at 4pm. The wait staff is very professional and help each other. Our waiter was pleasant and took our drink and appetizer order. The specials for the evening had not been given yet. However once given to the staff our waiter came over and gave them to us. We... More

I've been going to The Knick with my best friend for over 25 years and it never fails to impress on all levels: service, food, and atmosphere. My recommendation: go on the late-side of the evening, grab a back booth and enjoy the place as it winds down. If you go between 6 and 9 on a weekend, good luck getting... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
