This is a must do for us every time w go to NYC. The food is obvi French, but it is prepared by students. I recommend reservations and Sunday brunch is excellent. The wine list is well done too.

We have been to L'ecole on every trip to NYC and will continue to do so on every trip to come. Excellent food and good service.

I went for the last meal served at L'Ecole, NYC. It was sad to have such a wonderful meal and know that you can't go back again. As always, service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and it was a bit sad to say GOODBYE. I'll miss you.

We tried to get reservation for late lunch but were too late. So we booked for that evening: and we weren't disapppointed. It's a fixed price menu offering 3 or 4 courses: one slight quirk is that the 4th course is another choice from the appetiser or entree menus. The choice is varied but short: I prefer that to a... My husband and I try to go to restaurants that are in a culinary (any time we are visiting a new city) school just for the reason that you can count on great food always without exception. They open at 5:30 just in case you are touring lower Manhattan and want to eat early like we did today. You can... More

This place gets a better rating than michelin starred ESCA just reviewed. Young student chefs do the cooking and its really good value. I had quiche and a duck breast main and it was just perfect. Good service and a great location on Broadway for shoppers with tired feet.

After literally years of walking by and hearing about this lovely place, I decided to have dinner at L'ecole with my girlfriend. You really can't go wrong here. We had such tasty meals and it was a perfect date; not to mention the service here is super friendly and excellent, plus dinner was under $100 with wine. Watermelon salad &... More

L'Ecole takes me away from the greater city outside and delivers a consistent dinner in high quality style. I enjoy it's simplicity as well as the great service there. I have been going L'Ecole for 3 years now and more often in the past few months because I like the bar. The greatest compliment I could pay to this enduring... More

My Honey and I love visiting L'Ecole a couple times a year--usually for Restaurant Week. Although the food is prepared by culinary students, the quality rivals that of most high end fine dining experiences in NYC. The bread is awesome and replenished as desired. The fish dishes are perfectly prepared and the presentation of each order is expertly artistic. While... More

We visited L'Ecole with our kids last weekend, and for us it was an anticipated return visit. We had talked up how very cool it is that the restaurant is a working school for the budding restaurateurs, and how wonderful our previous experiences there were. Well, time, an evolving NYC food scene, and maybe age contributed to over-expectations for us.... More

Staying in SoHo

Neighborhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York, SoHo is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway is teeming with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district – the world’s largest collection of intricate and elegant cast-iron architecture. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city.
