I stopped here en route to my walking tour meeting point down town. I had a glass of wine at the bar with a creme brûlée. Good service at the bar and friendly staff. Quite prices but good. I have eaten here before and it was a nice lunch spot.

Along the years, "Les Halles" has been my favorite French brasserie and steak house in New York City. Whenever in the "Big Apple", always at "Les Halles" at its Park Avenue address. This year, during my last visit to New York, I was shocked when I heard they had just closed down "Park Avenue", but "Downtown" was busy on business!... More

We went in on a Saturday afternoon close to 2pm and was greeted with the brunch menu. The place was not hectic and our server was attentive and knowledgeable with the menu. As expected most dishes are of French flare with items such as escargot and the beef cheek in my excellently poached Eggs Les Halles. Prices are not dirt... More

With the second location now closed we were worried we might have trouble getting in. We were pleasantly surprised to not only get in but to be greeted from a waiter we had at the old location. The feel and space is of classic French Bistro. The wine list is limited but with a nice broad range of price points.... More

I used to really like this place, but this is the second time I've been in the last three months and to me, it's clear the quality of the food is going down. It's a shame, it used to be so good. But after tonight, I won't be back

Went to Les Halles with my son recently. I remember going there when he was an intern, before 9/11 and now after 15 years afterwards when he is a trader on Wall Street. The steaks are just as succulent and still a good value. Where else can you have a steak dinner for two for under 30 each. Waiters are... More

We decided to come here one night during restaurant week and had a very filling dinner. Escargot and steak were absolutely delicious. The place itself can be warm and cozy looking but perhaps there isn't too much of an ambience. It's definitely reminiscent of an old school brasserie though and that's the point.

Relatives came from overseas and took them there for dinner. They loved. They said it was the best meal they've had throughout the vacation. Tues 1/2 price wine is a plus. The Steak au Poivre, Frites was excellent.

Description
Les Halles Downtown enjoys a very central location between City Hall, Wall Street and the Fulton Street Market. Its menu, similar to the original Les Halles, is casual French and inspired by the small Parisian brasseries and cafes. It includes many sandwiches and salads. The establishment is comprised of two rooms: one lively around the long bar and a quieter room that can be closed off for private events.
