Located on MacDougal Street in the heart of Greenwich Village Monte’s Trattoria is a truly authentic ‘old style’ Italian Restaurant which has been run by the Mosconi family since 1981. Our reservation was for 19.30 and on arrival we received a lovely warm welcome. The...More

This place doesn't look much from the outside but inside it is a nice little restaurant. The food was really good and the service was good. The owner was parading his grandson around the restaurant while we were there. This felt like the most authentic...More

The food here is outstanding! Found it on a Foods of New York food tour 10 years ago and we try to return every time we are in NYC!

Monte's has a primary dining room downstairs and a second dining area upstairs. When we were there the downstairs was very busy and upstairs was quiet. The menu was well rounded with traditional pastas, chicken, veal, fish, and beef. Good wine list at reasonable prices,...More

Loved this place. It's old fashioned Italian. Food was great. Terrific selection on the menu. And we had the best waiter. Would recommend this place to anyone.

We really enjoyed our visit to Montes. The menu is large with a great selection of pasta, seafood (really good) and authentic Italian dishes. The restaurant is small and the excellent older waiters provide an impeccable service. Wine list is not over-priced. We will be...More

My wife and I went last night for our anniversary. I had reservations so no waiting. My wife ordered a house salad and I had a Caesar salad, both were huge and perfectly chilled. I ordered a single serving calamari, and my wife got artichoke...More

Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.
