We visit here on Sunday night around 8:30 PM. The whole area was bustling and we tried to get a table at a couple of places before we stopped in at Lunella, the other places did not show much interest in finding us a table. Antonio at Lunella was just the opposite, he worked hard to find us a place... More

The food was delicious and the portions were large. However, the service was slow. The waiters were slow to refill our water and when it became apparent that we would not be ordering anymore wine, the staff all but disappeared. They didn't offer cheese or pepper for our pasta dishes. The bread was nothing special and I think the balsamic... More

I was going to describe the culinary part, but the situation in the restaurant so surprised me that I will focus only on one thing: attention, they are cheat !!! The menu clearly written information: "We add service when is more than 6 people" However, they charged us even though only 4 people. Why? The waiter could not be explained.... More

As you walk Mulberry Street there are literally dozens and dozens of restaurants to choose from. We visited Little Italy with the hopes of experiencing an authentic Italian restaurant and Lunella was beyond disappointing. Olive Garden would have been a better decision. The food was not horrible, but it wasn't all that great either. The service is not good, it... More

Food was excellent, but the owner and server were more worried about everyone else. Owner was yelling all around at employees. Plates were cleared and I had to ask for check 3 times.

It's a tipical italian restaurant in little italy, the food is great, but I did not love because of the service. It was very clear to us that the waiter was not very happy with our presence in there, dont know if we are not the exact kind of client that they expect - two young brazilian studants that are... I know, I know, anyone who picks a random Italian restaurant on Mulberry Street in Little Italy is asking for disappointment, but we were intent on getting to the newly opened museum down the street. Great bufalo mozzarella was paired with tasteless tomato slices and an aged basil leaf. Come on guys, with all the great produce in NYC, you... More

Thought that we'd go and try an Italian meal in Little Italy, as you do when you're a tourist. Happened upon Lunella which appeared to be a safe bet - menu was good and food reasonably priced. However..........the service was terrible. We were met by a surly man who didn't seem to understand the meaning of customer service, and was... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
