I hadn't been to the Rocking Horse Cafe in a long time, but with the seemingly endless turnover of restaurants on 8th Ave in Chelsea, I decided to give it a try and see why it's survived where so many others have faltered. Me and my date went looking for some good Mexican food with a vibrant atmosphere and a... More

I don’t know why it took me a while to write a review on this great establishment in Chelsea. Rocking Horse is my favorite place to have brunch in NYC. They offer great tasting Mexican meals for a decent price. All of the selections in their brunch menu are exceptional. Huevos Rancheros and Burritos de Carne y Huevos are my... More

Our waiter was the best! Recommending some great choices. Outdoor seating is limited to 2 per table, no exceptions. Would love to go back.

Tripadvisor asks "Is this one of the best meals you've had in a restaurant?" Well, it is THE best meal I've had in any Mexican restaurant! I'm from California, where different kinds of Mexican food are omnipresent. This Chelsea spot beats them all. Every dish our group of three had was beyond delicious: Guacamole and chips, tacos including chicken, and... More

This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. There is a chef in the main dining room making tortillas by hand- a good sign right from the start! Their chips are substantial and very flavorful, and the salsa has the smoky ancho chile flavor which is also fruity-- a different and interesting touch. For RW everyone starts with Andalusian gazpacho which... More

This is my go to place when I have friends or business people in town and want them to love their dinner experience. The margaritas, sangria, guacamole, carne guisada & bistec con hongos are ALL always delicious!

Ate dinner here with a friend. Arrived around 7pm on a Saturday night and wasn't too crowded. Very nice wait staff, delicious and STRONG frozen margs. Free chips and housemade salsa to start. My friend ordered the burrito and really enjoyed it. I opted for 3 sides - kale, rice and beans, and polenta... all so very delicious and flavorful!... More

With so much choice in the city it is reassuring to find a restaurant where service, charm and flavor are delivered in equally generous portions. A wonderful taste-fest and quite possibly the best Burrito on the East Coast. An unlikely location makes this venue difficult to fall upon by accident but absolutely worthy or the walk from the Metro. Arrive... More

This was a nice restaurant in Chelsea and we loved the ambiance, the food choices (nice twists on traditional Mexican food).
