We love this restaurant. It is very small without much ambiance, but it's relatively quiet and the food is consistently outstanding. It's a short walk from the theater district and is always packed. We come to NYC once or twice a year and never miss eating here. We order the same two dishes every time because we enjoy them so. I get the tube pasta in pistachio cream sauce with mild ground sausage and my friend gets the cacio de pepe (served in a basket of parmesan cheese) . We ate every bit of our dinners, savoring every bite. We talk about trying something else, but we haven't done so in several years. On this recent visit we had a post-theater 9PM reservation. The restaurant was totally full. Our table for 2 was in a hallway next to the bar, but actually it was quiet and private, so we didn't mind. We might even ask for it when we return. Our server was great, and his by-the-glass wine recommendations were spot-on. Of the 3 restaurants we went to in mid-town, our Il Corso food/experience ranked #1. This is the only restaurant we will return to.

We really enjoyed the Spaghetti di mare (which was very al dente), the Fettuccine with mushrooms, and the pistachio tartlet. Surprised not to see cheese on the menu. The score would have been maximum if the quality-price ratio was not New York. €210 for three and without any excess (3 pasta dishes, 2 desserts, 1 glass of wine, 1 beer).

Delicious!! I have been to many pasta restaurants, including in Italy, but this one was a pass, everything was delicious, the pasta has an incredible flavor, as if they were left overflowing with the sauce, since even if you eat it without accompaniment, it has an exquisite flavor. I really recommend it. And we ordered dessert to try, and luckily we tried them. Please try the pistachio cake, it has a delicious cream. 1000/10 this place. In addition, those who serve are very loving, attentive and recommend their specialty.

The food was delicious however my friend and I felt a lot of pressure, because every 5 minutes they asked us, if everything OK?, do you need anything else?. We order an entrance, two main courses, beverages, desserts and coffee. What else we can need? until they said that they needed the table, Sorry but we were consuming, and I went to the bathroom before I left the restaurant and they had two empty tables for two people at the end of the restaurant. Why they say that needs the table? Never before, in NYC or in my country anybody asked to leave the place, It was disrespectful so I don't recommend this place. There are better restaurants in Little Italy like "La Mela" where you can spend time, enjoy the place and eat delicious food at great prices without the pressure.

“Italian” restaurant serving American cuisine: cream in most dishes (especially in the linguine olio e alio!), “sweet” and almost sweet flavors, very cooked pasta. It’s logical, it corresponds to the tastes of the numerous and satisfied clientele; this can be heard because the noise level is very high, it is very difficult to talk at the table...low price, which also explains the success.

My daughter and I were heading for Broadway and wanted a good Italian dinner. Our server was well informed and very carefully described the specials. I was debating between a seafood special that included a Langoustine and a regular menu item that was mostly seafood. Finally I decided on the regular menu item with an added langoustine. I began my dinner with an appetizer that was Portuguese octopus. It was grilled to perfection. Naturally I expected the same from my next course however both the langoustine and shrimp were so overcooked that I could actually see that when the plate was first put in front of me. The clams and mussels were cooked well. Either the person expediting the food or the chef should have never let that plate out of the kitchen. Because we were in a time crunch I couldn't send it back but each of those selections are not that hard to prepare for a kitchen that could grill octopus as well as they did. Service and ambiance were first rate.

Nothing to say about the food, quite good for NY. However, we are VERY angry because even by writing (putting an It's not for the amount of the tip (still $20) but for the gesture of having done it EVEN if we had written no. They even tried to put two plates for dessert (so they add 10% of the plate for splitting it) when only my partner wanted to eat dessert. Not because we are tourists you can cheat people, absolutely not recommended!

I stopped in here during a solo trip to New York City. I ordered the avocado salad which was beautifully presented and delicious. I wanted to follow it with some pasta but knew that would be too much food so the waiter very kindly offered to do a half portion of pasta. The pasta , cacio e pepe, was, again, very nicely presented, perfectly seasoned and delivered.

We arrived about 20 minutes early but we’re seated still without a problem. We were given a table between the front and the back of the restaurant and we felt like overflow. Where we were wasn’t very private and we felt a part of the bar staff on occasions. We only ordered mains and the meals arrived very quickly. The food was reasonable but one of the sides (broccoli) and one of the mains (salmon) was over salty. It wasn’t enough for us to complain but other may have done. The value from the restaurant was also reasonable. My rating of 4 stars is nearer to 3 than 5.

We have now dined here on several occasions, lunch or dinner, because we generally stay at a nearby hotel. Indeed, the location is excellent. The decor, ambiance, and service are great (shout out to Iryne, the Maitre-d')! The cuisine is superb and reasonably priced, especially for upscale Manhattan. We have tried a half dozen entrees over the years and have never been disappointed. IMHO, you cannot do better in mid-town Manhattan.

We had a delicious lunch at Il Corso. The service was fantastic with a staff that was very attentive to our requests. We had the burrata, pappardelle and lemon pasta. All meals were well prepared with large portion sizes. The restaurant is small and charming. A good choice for lunch.

The food and service is outstanding! This is our favorite Italian restaurant in Manhattan! My wife says when she eats their pastas she hears angles sing. The salads and appetizers are outstanding as well. Service is consistently on point. It has the feel of a nice and tasteful neighborhood restaurant but the food and service is worth traveling for. We come here every time we visit Manhattan!

Polished and professional service is rare today outside of extremely expensive restaurants. We found it here. Everyone on staff seems competent, engaged and welcoming. The food was excellent. My osso bucco had perfect texture and depth of flavor, with no skimping on the saffron for the accompanying risotto. So many great Italian places to try in NYC, I suggest giving Il Corso a try.

We loved it! My adult daughter and I got into NYC late. Our hotel was nearby and the front desk attendant recommended this place. The staff was very welcoming, which was great after traveling all day. Our waiter said he had worked there over 30 years and gave us advice on visiting NYC. Our handmade pasta dishes were very tasty. My daughter is a picky vegetarian and she loved her dinner. We got dessert to go, cheesecake and chocolate cake, and it was delicious. We recommend this cozy place!

I was hoping that I would find good italian food during our trip to new york this time atleast. Unfortunately, this one was not meant to be either. We sat outside and the ambience was good. The service was pretty good too, for the most part. Being a vegetarian, we always have limited options. However, i was kind of astounded to hear that they did not have various kinds of pasta (no penne, no rigatoni). So, I finally said alright do you have fettucine, and was told yes. They said they could make a pasta primevera with the fettucine for me. The dishes started coming out in a little bit as we were getting hungrier. The Gnocchi turned out to be much better than expected. And so was the salad( La Tartufetta). Half an hour in, and others were half way through their dishes when the waiter came in and says they don't have fettucine. What an italian restaurant!! They advertise pasta dishes but they seem to have only spaghetti. The other dishes were also a wash - Cacio e Pepe was just bland and unmemorable. As we reminisced about our dining here, we all agreed that we get better food at Olive Garden. I still have smoke coming out my ears when i think that i spent over $150 for this sucky food.

Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
