In the past we have loved this restaurant. This time we were disappointed. First, they seated us at a table near the bar where there was a large party going on. The partygoers were just a bit too close to our table and there were surely other tables where they could have seated us. I always look forward to my... More

So, I've eaten here a number of times over the years, prior to going vegan -- always spectacular -- huge portions, attentive service, high quality preparations and ingredients, perfect location (across from Carnegie Hall), generous drinks (no skimping on the martinis). It's hard to go back to old haunts assuming I'll be eating a side-salad and maybe some sauteed mushrooms... More

Our friends recommended this local spot. It was great. I did it think I'd be able to eat a pizza by myself, but I did. It was outstanding.

The service was outstanding. Our waiter,Rocco, was well-versed on the menu and attentive but not overbearing. The staff were all very nice and helpful, perhaps even too nice :-) Seriously, it made for a very pleasant and enjoyable dinner. We had the prosciutto for starter and it was good, but we recently visited a Testaciccio meat marker in Rome so... More

Our party of 8 had found ourselves without a dinner reservation of Christmas night when we walked up the the door of Trattoria. The place was buzzing with activity and obviously very busy. We were welcomed with open arms and after a bit of quick reorganization we were seated. All the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Great food, great... More

Food was very good and service was great. Being British we found New York very expensive and this to us was a not cheap.

The place is overcrowded and noisy and the quality of the food is very poor, the service very unprofessional..... I was in charge of ordering the wine, their wine selection is not very extensive. I wanted to select a wine from the south part of Italy ; the first two were not available and the waiter was keep pushing me... More

Excellent food in a very noisy environment. The only complaint - they should explain that while sparkling bottled water is indeed bottled, "still bottled water" is triple-filtered tap water filled into reusable bottles.

We made a reservation through TripAdvisor. A couple hours later I noticed that they cancelled the reservation. I called to find out what was going on and was told that the reservation shouldn't of went through since they were booked. They offered us an hour later and a free bottle of wine. We got there at our new time and... More

We were a business group of 6 celebrating with a holiday lunch. Everyone was extremely happy with their meal. The service was excellent. The desserts are huge so we should have order 2 or 3 for the table to share instead of ordering a dessert per person. We wasted food so we will know for next time. Simply awesome!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
