When you get shut down for the comedy cellar there are plenty of nearby options. Someone outside wooed us with free comedy and we were all over it. No cover, no minimums, and we grabbed a quick drink at the bar before heading to the back. Once inside we saw a few performers. It's cool to see the comedy underground... More

Only popped in for a swifty, ended up staying much longer. Very generous bar staff, decent prices and a kinda cool, don't give a crap vibe, which makes a real change in a city that generally is further up itself than a proctologist's finger!

We were walking from our show at the comedy cellar and got pulled into here ! I thought the comedians were a lot of fun I kind of felt bad at one point they were working with a rough crowd !! We enjoyed it so that's all that matters, if you're easily offended you probably shouldn't be at a late... More

TERRIBLE PLACE, Honestly think the manager is the worst person I've ever met. Treats his staff awfully, don't give this man your business.

We went in for a few minutes to kill some time before a show and fell in love with the casual atmosphere and the friendliness of the bartender. In fact, we liked it so much that we almost missed our show. We went back afterward and finished off the night. The Guinness is poured properly and the shots were a... More

I was out with a group of friends and we hung out here before and after our dinner (at a different location). Cheap bear and a complete dive bar but not a bad place to hang out. On saturday night they have a comedy show. $20.00 per person. We didn't end up going but there was a decent crowd attending.

This bar is not that huge, which means less people and less noise. MacDougal is known for affordable food and beer and They offers one of the lowest in the street. Food is also decent.

Quick stop whilst walking through greenwich and came across this bar, most tempted by the happy hour specials. I can't believe it was like $2-3 for most beers and around 8 for branded spirits. The service was very attentive, decor was standard but it had a nice touch. I would highly recommend paying a visit here and I will be... More

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
