About
The restaurant's historical design elements inspire the feeling of a classic neighborhood mainstay. From the African Mahogany bar that spent over a century in Harvey's Chelsea, to the 1920s Parisian light fixtures that lined the river Seine, the detailed decor creates an elegant yet relaxed ambiance. For private dining guests, the full menu of New American fare includes decadent entrees like grilled Hanger Steak, Faroe Island Salmon and Chicken Paillard. Our knowledgeable staff informs guests on dish pairings with a select variety of wines, spirits and classic cocktails to compliment each flavor and palette preference. For larger parties looking to simplify, we offer larger appetizer platters including succulent confit duck wings, house-made charcuterie and Burger sliders.

This bar and restaurant furnished in dark wood and a dark green banquette has a nice almost clubby feel. Large bar and high tables in the front part and normal height seating in the back. We liked the vibe and the service and very much enjoyed everything we ordered from Old Fashioned to red and white wines by the glass. The French fries were scrumptious, the Caesar salad easy to manage, and the lobster rolls, amply stuffed, and almost, but not quite, Maine!

On this past Saturday my wife and I went to the Bar Room for brunch before a matinee. Everyone we dealt with was exceptionally friendly. Our server, Agata, was delightful and kept my coffee cup filled. The food exceeded expectations. My Shrimp and Grits had a nice burn, and my wife's Eggs Benedict was creamy and mellow. All in all, a delightful experience. We'll be back.

I don't eat red meat often, so I want it to be great when I do. The Bar Room has a top notch hamburger! The fries were good. Service was excellent. This is an upscale pub. Customers were spirited. The place was packed and noisy, so we sat in the back room and had no trouble having a conversation.

The Bar Room seems to be another local favorite watering hole / restaurant. As soon as you walk in, you notice two things: how incredibly loud the noise is from the conversations and how dim the lighting was. It’s a small place as many places in NYC are. You work with what you have. The place is clean and looks nice. Take a moment and look at the lights in the dining room as they are classic style not seen anymore. The lighting was so dim that many people, including myself, had to turn on their phones’ flashlights to read the menu. The tables are close together to maximize space but you feel like you’re into the other diners’ conversations. My coworker and I both ordered the filet and it was perfectly cooked even though it was a thick slice (not butterflied). The banana creme brûlée was delicious. While it didn’t come with whipped cream, our server was very accommodating when I asked her for some. The dinner was delicious and the filets were pricey at $42 each but we left content and full. Kudos to our tall brunette server Denisse who was so wonderful. Thanks!

We booked a reservation on their website the day prior and needed to modify the time and did so a few hours later and received an email confirmation of the new time. Then 15 minutes after my original time I got a call and asked if we were coming. I told them we changed the time. She said that their system “Resy” does have some issues. So if you make any changes to your reservation I recommend you call them to confirm. The food is tasty and well prepared. The place is loud and the service could be better. It took ten minutes from the time seated until someone came by the table for our order and another ten minutes to receive our drinks. Too long. Then when our meals came we asked for grated cheese and bread to go along with our pasta dishes and this took another ten minutes, as our pasta got cold. While the food is good the service was so-so and not sure if I would go back.

Lovely dining room for brunch with a great sky light and wall murals. The menu and the food are nothing to write home about. The French onion soup was missing and depth or richness and the eggs Benedict were very standard. The prices are up there.

Really beautiful building. The interior is picture perfect. Staff were a little off but nothing specific. It was Sunday brunch and we just wanted drinks so not sure if that was an issue. Ended up ordering food and it was nice and reasonable price for sure. Would definitely recommend a wee stop off here if you’re close to Central Park south.

Stopped here to meet a friend from the city. What a great spot. We were only there for a couple of hours, but the vibe was amazing. The music playlist was spot on for us, the drinks were great, and the bartender was working his ass off! Definitely a hot spot.

Interesting décor and menu that is well delivered. A great place near the park to go for lunch and also with a good vibe in the evening. We make a point of returning each time we are in NYC

Place has nice interior design. The beef burger and chicken sandwich were great, but Parmesan Chicken I would not recommend. It was so thin as you van see on the picture. The deserts are not that special, but the prices are…

Brunch and jazz is served each weekend both Saturday and Sunday two different bands. Potions were large. Jazz was good, and nicely in the background so didn’t get in the way of a good chat.

We had the nachos and the duck wings. Generous portions, very tasty. And a bottle of Malbec. Downside is that its very noisy, which means its hard to have a conversation. Good value.

Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
