This is a great place to grab a slice or bring a pie back to your room when you're in NY. It is only a couple blocks from Time Square and true NY pizza. Small place that is the stereotype NY pizza joint. Worth the stop for sure.

If you are in a hurry but need something to keep you on your way with your sightseeing and shopping, Ray's never disappoints! They have a good selection of slices to choose from and it is great food for not a lot of money.

We wanted a real taste of New York Pizza and we weren't disappointed. It has an 'A' rating and was clean. Staff friendly. Pizza was delicious, hot and filling. Great for a stop in for a cheap and tasty lunch

Our family went for pizza. We ordered a whole pizza and took it back to our hotel room to eat it because there is not much seating. Some of the seating was right by the front door where people were ordering and coming in and out. Since it was a cold night, those seats would not have been acceptable at... More

The cooked pizzas are laid out in a glass case. They are not labeled, so you just have to guess. There is a sense of the need to rush to a decision or you might lose your place in line. Once selected, they take a slice and put it in the oven for a reheat. A slice was $6.30 and... More

We were looking for something quick before a performance at Carnegie Hall, so we stopped in Famous Ray’s on 7th Ave. You walk in and before you are rows of different pizzas to choose from by the slice, or you can get a whole. The area where they take orders was crowded and disorganized. The only table not taken was... More

I went here for a quick dinner for the family. Although I asked for guidance on volume and sizes I got no help at all and was in fact up-sold on much more pizza than was needed which was in retrospect understood by the staff. Felt ripped off.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
