This place is excellent and they had great specials. I called in advance for a reservation, but I am sure that none was needed.

By far best Italian meal in New York. I had one of the homemade pasta dishes (spinach linguine with shrimp in a pesto sauce) and my husband had Pollo Rustico. The portions are very generous. I recommend not ordering appetizers as most likely you won't finish your meal. The restaurant is a small quaint place with an European flare. The... More

10 years ago Cara Mia was recommended to me by a local. I would come alone when on business travel. It has been wonderful and this time my family got to experience it with me!

Have had dinner here several times before a Broadway show. It is a small space and very busy before theater so you must make a reservation. Food is consistently good, and prices are reasonable. Just don't expect a quiet, romantic dinner pre theater. Other times it may be more quiet.

We were looking for some place for desert after the theatre and stumbled on to this place. Well, after a couple of bottles of wine, dinner, then the desert we planned on we "ALL" decided this was our favorite restaurant of our trip. The Home mage pasta is to die for the sauces and outstanding, the deserts were too die... More

Get the special. I don't care what it is, just go with that. They concoct and make their own unique pasta in-house, pair it with phenominal sauces and perfectly cooked veggies. I wish I still ate pasta because the menu looked fabulous and nothing being ordered seemed to disappoint. Being limited from most grains, I went with one of their... More

After a broadway show, we walked the few blocks to the restaurant. We were seated immediately and the service from the time we entered until we left was superb. We shared an appetizer(stuffed mushrooms) and a salad (luna rosa) and each ordered an entrée-gnocchis for one and tortelinni ala nonna for the other. Excellent! We will be back (with friends)!... We found this quaint Italian Restaurant while walking down 9th Avenue. We popped in for lunch and had a very enjoyable and reasonably priced lunch that included 2 courses in a great atmosphere. I can certainly recommend this restaurant.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
