This is a real shame: its location might be a truly attractive one for a short break along the Hudson river but the organization is terrible, a lot of messy staff with unclear roles and competences, inappropriate behaviors and dirty t-shirts. Average food, average prices....Pretty awful experience.More

I took a group of 200 people here for a conference dinner and had a great time. From booking the space to choosing the menu to on-site assistance, it was a very easy and pleasant experience. The venue is perfect for a large group, very...easy to get to and great views. Food was plentiful and tasty and bar service was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!More

So, we had read a lot about this place and decided to go there on a nice summer evening. The wait was about 25 min so we took a walk along the water which was lovely. Once seated our server was there quick enough to...take our order but after that we couldn’t get hold of her at all. Not until time for payment! And asking other servers for anything didn’t get any attention whatsoever. Yes the place was busy, but that doesn’t excuse it being dirty. Lots of scraps of food all over the floor, used paper napkins, etc. And the wings were just about the worst I have had - really really salty. If you happen to go there focus on the views and don’t have any other expectations.More

I would give this place zero stars if I could. The only thing worse than their food and their service is their lack of respect for the environment. They only use disposables. All the plates, utensils, and cups are plastic. At a time when most...people are trying to cut back on plastic and forego straws, this place is too lazy to clean anything so they would rather just use single-use plastic. That’s so backwards! Now let’s talk about the food (if what they serve can even be called food). It’s awful and greasy. I went with a group and no one liked the food at all. We ended up going to a different restaurant afterwards because we were so hungry. And vegans beware — there are no real vegans options. They had the Impossible Burger on the specials when I was there, but they cook everything on the same grill. These people clearly don’t understand nor care about food allergies or dietary restrictions. If a vegan burger is cooked on a grill with the juice of real meat, then it’s not vegan. I asked two servers who both confirmed everything is cooked together on the same grill. The first manager I spoke with also said that it was cooked on the same grill, but then went back on his answer when I said that would make the burger not vegan. The second manager who walked up was really rude and said he didn’t care and that he hadn’t asked for my feedback. This place should also change its name. It’s not a café. It’s a bar with really awful food, poor hygiene, and no respect for the environment. If you just want drinks and a somewhat nice view by the Hudson, then this might be a good place for you. Otherwise, just eat anywhere else.More

Went for my God-Daughter's 30th birthday and had a wonderful time. Area shown in photo above was cordoned off for the party with our private bar but open to everything else going on. Only 4 stars since if you are not a native, really hard...time finding the place and then not a single server knew anything about where the party was taking place! No worries tho, it was a fun venue and the chicken sandwich was quite good!More

The food and drinks are overpriced, and the food is Ok, not great. Example. I ordered a draft IPA beer and even though menu says $9, I was charged $11.90. I cannot imagine that taxes are $3. And to top it off the beer was...warm! Walk 7 blocks south and you will pay $8/9 for for draft beer (including taxes) and enjoy much better food at Pier I Cafe. And you get the same views.More

I travel all around the world all the time. But never experienced such terrible customer service like in this place. Came today few minutes after this place was open with all tables still empty. I ordered just sparkling water as was not hungry yet. After...few minutes waiter came back stating that if I want only sparkling water I can go to bar, make an order there and then drink it “on the side” i.e. out of Cafe garden area.... So just left!!More

The thing the Boat Basin has going for it is the location, it is lovely to sit by the river with a drink and relax. The food is expensive and basic and arrives on paper plates. If you need cutlery, there are packets of plastic...knives etc on the tables (they obviously haven’t heard about cutting down on the use of plastic). If there aren’t enough seats outside, I would recommend you move on, as inside gets incredibly noisy.More

Just checked into our nearby hotel and set out for some fresh air when we stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant on the banks of the Hudson River. Cannot remember our waitress name but she was excellent on both our visits. Food was excellent, ambiance, atmosphere,...cool breeze in the heat all made up to excellent visitor memories.More

There are very few restaurants right on the Hudson River Greenway. We spent a few hours biking and stopped here for lunch because it was so convenient. First, it is an interesting looking place, absolutely huge with a large indoor area as well as an...internal indoor area and a nice patio dining area overlooking the Hudson. Prices were normal New York, i.e., expensive, but not so expensive for New York... I had the tuna sandwich and it was really one of the best I have ever had. Service was good: Prompt, pleasant, friendly. Can't think of a better place to stop after riding 20 miles!More
