Le Colonial seeks to evoke the atmosphere of French colonialism in Vietnam prior to 1954. It offers a very elegant interior of a classic French restaurant, serving high-end Vietnamese food. While the food was good, it is overpriced for what it offers. The service was mediocre. Had to repeat several times order of a second glass of wine, which eventually... More

Gorgeous atmosphere and super service as well as terrific food. I especially liked the pho with a wonderful beef flavor and filling. Plan to come back again.

The kind of Vienamese food I had during all my life. With a good staff that made an effort to accommodate thw needs of our large group. Not cheap but not crazy either, I will do it again. Their wine list is also solid.

Le Colonial has been around over 20 years that I know. Surviving on 57 street in New York City already moved the restaurant into category well run business. Two story townhouse . Upstairs more intimate yet with the full menu. Vietnamese French. Regardless what you choose on the menu you can't go wrong. I have dinned several times and gladly... More

This place is SO wonderful. The upstairs lounge is AMAZING, and so much fun to hang out in. The bar's drink selections are unique and delicious, and of course the food is excellent as well.

I had lunch here with a friend during Restaurant Week and we both greatly enjoyed the experience. I especially liked the slightly spicy coconut soup with chunks of chicken in it. The décor is delightfully exotic, and the service is attentive and courteous.

This place is fantastic. It is quite with an authentic old feel. Its a breath of fresh air from the glossy and loud places in nyc. The food is average but the atmosphere is truly great

Description
Le Colonial is a truly delightful culinary experience. Like stepping into French Colonial Southeast Asia, this two-story restaurant, designed by Greg Jordan, consists of a main dining room with louvered wall panels, colorful tile floors, and vintage photos of Vietnam. Upstairs is an elegant, but lively, lounge serving a full dinner or just appetizers and cocktails. The lounge serves as an ideal setting for private parties and business dinners. Le Colonial serves an authentic Vietnamese menu with an emphasis on fresh seafood, meats, and vegetables.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
