It was recommended to me by a friend who lives nearby. It was quaint and rustic. The best part was that it felt like I was walking into someone's Italian home! Seriously! They treated us like family. In fact, I was with my daughter (8) and she just wanted spaghetti - and I have to admit that it was the... More

Supper is a pleasant and casual restaurant serving Italian cuisine. Service is efficient and friendly. In warm weather it's very nice to sit out on their front patio. I tried the spaghetti al limone and it was tasty. It's just spaghetti with lemon sauce and grated cheese. My only complaint was that the pasta wasn't al dente, but overall it... More

The food is wonderful and generous in portions. You don't need an appetizer after they bring out the bread and homemade toppings. The handmade pasta, sauces, and wine list are all great. It can get noisy if you sit near the chef's work area, but what a treat to watch the ballet they perform preparing each meal. There is a... More

Lovely restaurant in the East Village. Food was delicious and service was great. We booked and I would definitely recommend this as we got there at 7 and people were already queuing for tables. They do a great garlic bean appetiser on the house which was a lovely touch and utterly delicious! It has a really relaxed vibe and you're... More

My daughter and I enjoyed a great dinner here before seeing Blue Man Group. Excellent bolognese sauce. Very small restaurant with an open kitchen.

I loved my experience at Supper. In fact, it was some of the best Italian I've had in NYC and the prices were reasonable. Be warned that it is CASH only!! The food was amazing!! We definitely ordered way too much food. For 8 people, we had multiple kale salads (4), mushroom crostinis (2), mixed salads (2) and burrata over... More

Attended a family dinner here. The atmosphere reminds me of old clubs in the village back "in the day." The menu had some very good choices and there were daily specials as well. The cod with balsamic glaze was fabulous. Appetizers and salads were very good. Wine list was deep enough to please most everyone. Not a low budget choice... More

If you want white table cloths, fine china and silverware, this is not the place to go. If you want really great food prepared by really talented chefs and a professional but relaxed waitstaff, then this is your place. We went for Brunch on Sunday and the food was outstanding from the beet salad with robiola cheese to the chicken... More

Went for dinner Saturday evening, seated right away at the bar. The restaurant was busy inside and out. Wife ordered the veal Milanese, said it was average.I ordered the chicken parm, a special that evening, I left half over. The chicken and the veal were pounded to paper thin thickness, and in my case couldn't handle the sauce and cheese... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
