My favorite gem of a restaurant has closed. It was truly like coming home for dinner. We will miss it as our go to place after a busy day.

Had a nice table in their quaint garden Our waiter was not the most informative or friendly when asked about the various dishes. The portions were incredibly small for the price and my wife was not allowed to substitute a vegetable for potatoes (which she politely asked). Her steak was the size of a meatball ($30) And my duck pastrami... More

We visited Home as part of our Original Greenwich Village food tour and got to sit in their garden and sample risotto with quail egg and fried mushrooms. Really delicious food and really nice ambience to this place. We really liked the ethos of this restaurant which is farm to table.

The food is creative and tasty. The service is discrete and friendly. The place is cozy and elegant without being pretentious. We really felt at home. Excellent experience.

"Home" is a very sweet little restaurant near West 4th street in Manhattan. It's in a neighbourhood that's full of good eateries, so restaurants have to be good to stand out in the crowd. This one succeeds by keeping it's menu short and simple, drawing on the best seasonal produce. It's the perfect place for a date or for a... More

I discovered Home on a food tour the first time I was in NYC. This trip I snagged a reservation (girls trip) and it was just as amazing as I remember. Of course, you have to order the Mac & Cheese. Enough said. However, we didn't stop there. Started with pear and blue cheese salad, fried green tomatoes, and onion... More

Everything was delicious, It was reasonably priced. It sits in an area of the village with lots of great places to eat but this stood out for me. The truffle Risotto was spectacular. Another traveller told me it was the best dish she had been given in a two hour sampling tour of the finest food spots in the Village.

Home is a quiet spot in the west village which has been around for over 20 years. It is a local restaurant that is continually re-inventing their menus..inventions that continue to be better and better. Suffice it to say, I have never had a bad meal here and eaten there at least 10, if not more times. For New York,... More

Enjoyed sitting in the back patio, surrounded by plants in peace and quiet. It was a great find after walking the busy streets. The food and tea was locally made and so fresh. Absolutely loved it.

I've been to this place many many times, though not often enough recently. When we were thinking of places close to our movie theater, it came to mind and I am so glad it did. Seasonal dishes like roast squash for an appetizer or pasta with lamb meatballs as a main course were interesting and delicious. We three tasted 6... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
