Raw bar and rock shrimp were good; porterhouse was adequate. Each steak we ordered was heavily under seasoned. Prime rib was extremely disappointing. Hash browns with fried egg were quite good, can't say the same about the mushrooms and creamed spinach, which were both bland....More

I always enjoy a good steak, and Old Homestead did not disappoint. We had no particular destination for this Wednesday dinner, but when I saw the sign as we were walking to the Hotel, I knew I had to give it a try. I will...More

This is a good restaurant in a great neighborhood. Great seafood starters and steaks, however, truffle oil doesn't have to be added to french fries, onion rings, horseradish sauce and anything else you can pour it on. This restaurant has great food and ambiance and...More

The Old Homestead is iconic and the steaks are still prepared and served to perfection. My disappointment lies in Sarko, our waiter dropping the ball and leaving before our food was served. The meal arrived without major mistakes. Definitely not well worth the wait! The...More

As you enter the front the bar is immediately on your left - this area was small and congested so not the greatest place while waiting to be seated. Much more comfortable once seated at our table upstairs. The food is classic NY steakhouse and...More

On recommendation we decided to dine in a older iconic Steakhouse in the middle of the former meatpacking district since 1968 called Old Homestead Steakhouse. Upon entering we knew it was your classic steakhouses with the dark woods and leather booths with very, very low...More

If you're up for a good filet, this is a good choice. Even though there's no dress code, we felt under dressed in jeans. Khakis & polo shirt minimum. Wait staff was phenomenal. Food was excellent. Nice old world feel with lots of wood, leather,...More

Very nice meal at Old Homestead with adult family members. We all had steak which was very tasty. We shared salads and some appetizers beforehand. Their wine list runs from not too pricey, up. The atmosphere was nice with enough room between tables we didn't...More

Came for dinner (an anniversary ) with reservation booked on Open Table ( mentioning anniversary). Thought we were in for a treat but found the atmosphere noisy and filled with tourists many of whom were there for drinking more so than eating. Garlic bread was...More

I have gone there for lunch and they have two specials on the lunch menu. One is a filet mignon sandwich and I don't recall the second, sorry. But I had the filet mignon sandwich and it was excellent.

Not that I could see .. I'd err on the side of smarter casual. Mix of suits from offices and smart jeans/shirts. Not sure I'd go in with beach shorts & a shabby t-shirt ..

Classic Gotham Steakhouse located in the ultra chic Meat Packing District, established in 1868. The restaurant maintains it's strong relationships with their butchers, allowing them to get their first pick of beef. Nothing but prime dry aged meat - always has been and always will be. Winner of the 2006 Wine Spectator Award. Lobsters ranging in sizes from 4 - 13 lbs., sushi grade tuna, sockeye salmon, Colossal crab meat and shrimp so big they are referred to as small bananas.
