Food was good (not excellent). I had made a reservation with by kids (early twenties). They were put on third floor - not very nice - wait staff was friendly but spent more time on their phones than checking on customers. I consider OH to be one of the better steakhouses in NYC, not this time!

We have been coming here since 1982 and always have had the most fantastic steaks. Visited again with our family and we ordered the calamari with sweet chilli sauce, 1 x hamburger, 1 x salmon and 1 x bone-in ribeye and a lobster tail. There were some short-comings in the service (food not as hot as it should have been)... More

The décor isn’t much but the service and food is classic steak house. And this is the original Old Homestead. My girl friend drags me here a lot. She’s in love with the slab bacon. I love the filet mignon with Bernaise. And we’ve shared the mac & cheese and creamed spinach and big baked potatoes with the works. My... More

Very disappointed. I took my wife here 30 years ago when we were dating. Although the neighborhood was pretty raw, the restaurant stood out as a beautiful gem. We went here this past weekend for our 29th anniversary. I was disappointed. Much more casual. People in shorts and tee shirts. For a restaurant in this price category you should expect... More

Very busy, I don't know what it must be like in the evening. Old, great vibes, interesting but I came for a steak. Not impressed.

This is not a big place and it wasn't full when we went there on a weekday night for a business meal. It is a bit dark inside, not well lit and in places looks a little tired. Having said that, it is NYC and they have to make the most of the space. The servers were ok, a little... More

By far the worst steakhouse I have ever been to. Our party of 14 arrived at 8:00 PM, and we were seated quickly, The very nasty and cranky older waiter immediately tossed the menus at us. Less than 5 minutes later, he was back to take the dinner orders. Most of us had barely looked at the menu in those... More

This was my husband's choice for Father's Day, and he really enjoyed The Old Homestead. If it were up to him, the ratings would be all 5s. But I'm the one writing the review, and I'm less generous. Yes, we had a great tasting steak dinner, and the service was very good. But for these prices, I'm reluctant to give... More

The food is all top steak-house excellent. My husband and kids are ocnfirmed carnivores and have a hard time finishing all of the meat they ordered, even though they said every bite tasted perfect. I dined on fish and potato pancakes and wold have thought it was what the place is famous for. Everything is delicious and presented beautifully. the... More
