We decided to try our first Dim Sum experience and the Golden Unicorn was amazing. Get there early on a Sunday morning - we arrived at 11:00 and waited 45 minutes, but it was worth it. The minute you are seated in the ballroom, the food carts come by - and delicious morsels are yours for the choosing. We ate... More

My New York son tells me this is the best place for dim sum in NYC. I'll have to take his word for it, but I don't like having to stand for 45+ minutes in a packed waiting area to get a partial table (three of us shared with two other parties). The food came by on carts fairly frequently,... More

Friends love this place for dim sum in NYC, and prefer it relative to Jing Fong. I'm not a huge dim sum person and what can I say, Golden Unicorn didn't convert me. Hence won't be going to Jing Fong any time soon. Went with a companion and tried a variety of dishes including the steamed rice noodle with shrimp,... More

I haven't had dim sum in awhile, and coming here was an excellent re-introduction to that whole scene. I'm not a dim sum connoisseur, but this was definitely on the better end of dim sum experiences. Be aware: this place gets super-crowded and has LONG waits on Sunday mornings for a table at any one of the restaurant's 4 floors... More

We loved this place and got stuffed! We especially loved their buns and particularly the red beans ones decorated like little pigs. Everything tasted great and we would definitely go back again!

Been here many times including banquets; last two on Groupon deals, which were good. This time it was terrible. Spring rolls and dumplings were OK, but beef satay had strange taste. Hot & sour soup was bland and sweet—how do you make bland and sweet “hot and sour” soup? The beef with orange peel looked like dark meat chicken…hard to... More

Decent dim sum. Take dim sum from the carts or order from the menu. Prices are reasonable for New York. Busy at weekends.

What a horrible restaurant. I recently attended a wedding just last week and I felt so bad for the bride and groom. First, the restaurant representatives continuously ripped-off and took advantage of the newlyweds and family. They made them feel that they were given a very good deal, then asked them for extra money for this and that the day... More

This is your average Dim Sum place in Chinatown. Ladies pass by pushing cars and you pick what you want to eat. Be ready to wait 45 minutes to an hour on the weekends. We have been coming here for the past 7 years and quality has never declined. Solid spot if you are a tourist in NY and want... More

Very popular ad the queue testifies. Pick up a number from the ladies in e lobby and wait to be called up to your floor. Great atmosphere inside with proper dim sum carts pushed by little old ladies. Some misses but overall great food at a reasonable price.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
