I sat outside in the times of COVID and had mussels and french fries. The mussels must have been past due. I was ill for 10 hours. I noticed one had be cracked open and I didn't eat that one. Ugh. Sorry.

Rue 57 -- where we counted on consistent, well-prepared bistro food -- has been a family favorite. While we're grateful they've established an outdoor seating plan during the summer of Covid, the quality has fallen dramatically. I understand the limited menu, that's fine. But a...limited menu should mean everything is done well. Chief complaints: the hamburger which used to be great is now meh (asked for medium rare, it came raw, like tartare, on the inside); the bun that used to be lovely and rich brioche is now basically an Arnold's hamburger roll; the fries that were thin and bistro crisp are now thick and too potato-y. Also, the little touches are gone - they used to have fantastic artisanal bread, soft inside with a hard, charred crust and sweet butter. What's served now is some pedestrian generic white bread and that's on request. First time we ordered it, it was stale or had been left out - cut - for too long. Lastly, they used to present coffee drinks with a very small square of chocolate. Dining out, especially now, should be special and honestly, I can do better at home, Rue, please come back.More

Being French, it was an enjoyement to test this French Brasserie. To be honest it is a nice place with good food. The place is great, just a block away from Central Park. There are a lot of french movie and stars photos on the...wall. But unlike Pastis, no one seems to speak French and the mood, customers is more US then French. Again, as I said often, there is a grade bewaeen average and very good. I would say a good place.More

Good quality basic French, American and Japanese cuisine. Noting fancy but a true casual Paris type atmosphere.

Late, after a long day of museum-hopping and a concert, not having had a proper dinner, we dropped in to see the breakfast menu for the next morning. The restaurant was around the corner from our hotel. We decided to have a night cap at...the bar, and wound up chatting with many of the locals, some of whom, surprisingly, were having full dinners. We wound up having a Chef Roll, which was absolutely fabulous, and my husband was convinced that the portion we were served was much larger than the one he saw at the Sushi Station. It was close to closing, and it seems we lucked out. Very pleased.More

This is a nice restaurant, somewhat crowded, but it is in the middle of New York City. Prices were respectable and food and service were both good.

Both the food and the service have improved since our last visit. The Salmon Crab Roll was tasty and the Burger quite filling - quite enough for a late night snack - after 11PM.

The food was truly beautiful and the staff were very friendly and approachable... As we are from the UK, our bank cards were initially not accepted but the staff were still very patient and understanding until the cards decided to work!

Me and my friend found this place because it was very close to the Central Park and we wanted to get brunch. We went in , we got seated very fast and the server was very nice and friendly. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich...and my friend got an omelette and pancakes. The food was also very good BUT when I took a bite out of my sandwich I felt something on my lips, it was hair. Right when I saw it I asked the server to take it away. I wasn’t even hungry anymore , even tho the food was good. She said she’ll have to tell the manager and I told her good because I would’ve told the manager anyways. Well when the manager came to my table she apologized and took the sandwich off our check which was the right thing to do BUT also tried to “let me know” that they don’t have anyone in the kitchen with blonde hair. I could see that she was kinda insinuating that it was my hair. I told her and showed her that the hair was short and in the cheese, like the cheese was melted on it so I couldn’t have done that. She could also check the security footage and make sure before she makes accusations. Just the fact that she tried to insinuate that I would’ve done something like that it was like she insulted me. Overall good food and no complaints about the other staff but the manager needs to learn how to deal with customers no matter what the problem is. I’m sure I’m not the first customer to complain about her attitude.More
