Service was excellent and food was delectable. A must visit since the re-opening! Also try Metropolis downstairs for a jazzy nightcap!

Kudos to Blue Water Grill. The sign of a good business is recognizing and keeping valuable employees. So it was with great pleasure that we saw Julian was still working his magic at the restaurant. And Ricky's suggestions were right on target. It is a pleasure dealing with people who bring knowledge and enthusiasm to their work. And then the... More

When I and my husband went to this restaurant last summer I ordered halibut with some arugula on the top and my husband ordered tuna. Both dishes were delicious! However, when we went there in December to celebrate my husband's birthday the menu was different. There was no tuna or halibut in the menu or at least halibut was not... More

We chanced it and did not make a reservation but the host could not have been more welcoming. We had excellent service in what is a classically stylish and very well appointed fine dining restaurant. The food was first class and, given the level of the experience, the prices represent good value. Highly recommended.

Our very close friends introduced us to this restaurant during our visit to NY! The seafood was wonderful! The atmosphere was great...down to the background music. Very pretty. The servers were also very good! I highly recommend! You won't be disappointed! Oh and the presentation of the meals were simply beautiful.

Small little place with a lot of personality. Cocktails are reasonably priced and taste delicious! The staff are so friendly and whipped up a brand new cocktail on the spot! Great first night in the city!

I had a nice lunch at this popular restaurant. The food was good--my salad was fresh and crisp, the main was excellent. There was split pricing so you could order a smaller portion at a lower price. The coffee was expensive and watery.

I went there tonight with a friend and the staff could not be more friendly or accommodating.. we just sat down for drinks at the bar and the staff were very chatty and asked how long we were visiting for.. I also asked for a cocktail to be made of the top of the waitresses head which she was very... More

We have eaten at Blue Water Grill every year in December for the last 12 years. We go every year as the place has always offered a festive holiday ambiance, good food at a relatively (NYC) good price, a children's menu for picky kids, and wonderful booths upstairs to fit our party of 6. The restaurant recently underwent some expensive... More

I just visited this old haunt for the first time since their renovation and spent $450 for a disappointing dinner for 4. The room has the aroma of glade air freshener - not my preference. Floral scents are not what I want at dinner. The service was poor, our bottle of wine came half way through our entrees and our... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
