The food is pretty good, but expensive. The service is excellent. This place is very large and seemed to be a meeting place for locals. We found it online when looking for a place to eat in the area since we had an evening event close.

If you are into seafood and want fine food prepared in an innovative way that's not stuffy or ultra fattening, this is the place. This is an awesome date night or family event restaurant. Everything on the menu is very, very good. Chilean Sea Bass, Black Cod, smokey mushrooms, salads, are just a few of our favorites. As for a... More

While shopping alone at the Union Square holiday market, I decided to stop in for a bite at the well known Blue Water Grill. Based on my experience they have every right to be excited to celebrate their 20th anniversary. On entering, I was struck by the space, rich with marble and decor lighting and a vibrant hubbub. The centerpiece... More

Had a couple of drinks here with work colleagues while in NY on business. Must say, what a beautiful place. Lovely drinks in a fantastic environment -- hope to go back to eat too. Think it will be great. Seems a popular place, so bear that in mind when visiting. I was there at 7pm and it was fine, but... More

We had booked a table at this popular spot. We were seated next to a group who had 3 young children and we feared the worst. The children were impeccable , as was the food. Very neat menu and good wine list. Some of the best prepared, quality fish in New York. Considering the place was busy the service was... More

We attended "New York" Magazine's food fair earlier this month and Blue Water Grill offered a delicious Crab and Beet Ravioli with a Honey Crisp Mignonette dressing. Their version of Mignonette consists of one tablespoon coarsely ground white peppercorns, 1/2 cup white wine vinegar, one tablespoons each of finely chopped shallots or sweet onions, and salt to taste. Refrigerate for... More

Delightful restaurant with very attentive staff. Stopped in for lunch , had the most amazing seafood tower! Service was quick and the restaurant is quite charming. Serene ambience, who could ask for more.

When eating out, we pay for a good meal and we also pay for good, or at least, satisfactory wait service. This experience was okay with the food but failed with service. The waitress made it seem she was doing us a favor by taking our orders and while, not rude, was not at all welcoming. Manager: Please be sure... More

Visited this restaurant on Sunday, October 23, 2016 for brunch with my wife and two kids (two and a half and five years old) and a family friend. Its been a few years since we last visited, and thankfully little had changed. I had the porridge for starter and salmon for main course, and I was very happy. My wife... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
