If you can't get up to the farm in upstate NY, Blue Hill in the W. Village is one heck of a consolation prize. The space is small, intimate and cozy. I ate at the bar, had great service, plenty of attention from the Sommelier who has a broad range of wines, seems to enjoy imparting her considerable wisdom and... More

Dan Barber's Blue hill restaurant in NYC,is a gastronomic experience for good lovers. Although the restaurant is small it us well cared for by stewards and waiters. There are only two set menus.Had the first set menu. The Maine lobster was delicious as well as the duck. The bread and butter itself was tasty. Best wishes to Dan and his team!

This is a must do. The dining experience was extravagant! Each dish is delicious and they can make adjustments for dietary restrictions. Make sure you have 3 hours for the meal.

After calling up in the early hours of the morning local Australian time and begging for a seat, the friendly staff were more than happy to accommodate my group of 3! Calling on the morning of our reservation, we requested 2 more be added to our booking - and this request was also met with no fuss at all! From... More

Everything about our dinner was special. The food, the ambiance, the service. Amazing. Food quality and presentation was second to none. Be prepared to drop $200 per person if you're going to have a wine pairing. One of the most special dinners we've had. I am between 4-5 stars because it was very expensive for the experience. Was it worth... More

Fresh ingredients, mouth explosion in every bite. Back to the original roots of food. Everything in the plate was making sense.

After months of trying, finally scored a reservation to Blue Hill. The room was understated and elegant, not to mention quite comfortable. Music did not overpower the room. The wait staff was knowledgeable and very solicitous. The food was also really top notch. Each course was small but lovely. All the vegetables were delicious. I really loved the green gazpacho... What a treat to eat at Blue Hill - I came across this on Netflix "Chef's Table" - FABULOUS. From the décor, music, service and food - a rare treat to have the stars align this way. Best meal in NYC bar none. I could actually hear myself think and my husband as well - unlike every other place we... More

Although it probably is no more pretentious than its Westchester sibling - which I recommend for the experience and surroundings - in Greenwich Village this is too much. The service is attentive to the point of being obsequious. The wait staff was well trained but seemed fixated on being the center of your attention which made relaxing and enjoying your... More

First I loved the fact our hostess and then server were down to earth (loved the pink hair) and made our night so fun. This is not a stuffy place at all. Second, we went all in with the wine paring and the chef tasting with the extended courses. Plus we thought why not and had a welcome cocktail to... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
