The food was OK. In my opinion, if you go to this restaurant then you are going for the American Italian experience. It reminds me of Goodfella's the movie. However, if you are going for good food then you should consider somewhere else.

We had the lasagna and the Fusilli alla Boscaiola. Both were excellent - I particularly liked the sauce and the buffalo mozzarella in the Fusilli alla Boscaiola. The waiter was extremely helpful with the wine list and steered us to a great bottle (2013 Nero D'Avola Terre Siciliani). Prices were very reasonable given the very high quality and atmosphere.

The cocktails were superb, we reserved nline just before arriving at around 4:45pm - I would recommend making a booking as it did start to fill up as the night went on. The service was okay, the chap who was serving us seemed quite aggressive in how he was serving and constantly watching people and checking his phone all the... More

We drop in at Da Nico's everytime we are in New York. Never disappointed. One Valentine's day a group of us rented a stretch limo and went there for Dinner. Good memories! I've sent many, many people to their restaurant and they all love it too!

Da Nico is upscale traditional Italian that uses the freshest of ingredients. Definitely more authentic and local than touristy. We had both the thick Veal Chop with roasted onions and peppers and the veal pizzaiola -- both top rate cuts and cooked to perfection Bruschetta on flatbread was a great way to start.

We were in Little Italy January 4th with our kids and they were welcoming and extremely friendly with us and the kids! The food was authentic Italian and delicious! Then after supper they even brought the kids some fried dough for dessert on the house!

Enjoy traditional Northern and Southern Italian cuisine at Da Nico. The beautiful indoor dining room is a favorite among movie stars, New York Yankees and former Mayor Giuliani. The casual, family-friendly atmosphere welcomes you to dine on "The Best Coal Brick Oven Pizza," or one of the delicious items on the menu. Specialties include lobster fra diavolo, baby lamb chops and veal chops. Call for the day's specials. During the summer, Da Nico features a large outdoor garden which doubles its normal seating capacity. Da Nico is also available for your private parties. There are many keys to having a great dining experience. With that in mind, consider Da Nico the master locksmith of Little Italy!

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
