We had a lovely dinner starting with a delightful spinach salad with oranges, honestly one of the best salads ever. My husband had veal and I had meatballs. Authentic, yummy, Italian in Little Italy!!

Overall a good experience for quick lunch and air conditioned rest from 90+ degrees heat last week. My family of 4 enjoyed their pizza and pasta's. Waiter was attentive but not very friendly. As constructive critism I would say you dont need continuous water refills as frequency becomes disturbing and expected more choice of pizza toppings. The food came out... More

Second time in two months we were visiting this place. Good Italian food and attentive waiters. Try the burrata, it is delicious.

Not a bad meal....but very disappointed to receive my bill to see a 20% gratuity already added to the total....a suggested range of gratuity is one thing but to hand write an expected gratuity is disgusting! What ever happened to the customer being able to apply gratuity that reflected the service?! A disappointing experience for our last at in New... More

Little Italy, and Mulberry Street in particular, has an interesting history. Worth looking at the web before strolling down it. Stumbled across Da Nico by chance several years ago when one of the restaurants across the road was full. Since then, haven't been to New York without fitting in a lunch there whether summer or on a cold winter's day.... More

OK, it's Little Italy and a menu that comes straight out of the 1950s. Don't look for any progressive cuisine here. However, they do serve the classics and do them well - maybe even a little better than Ma's best Sunday gravy. Service was attentive and quick. Only complaint was one waiter who kept reaching over me to fill water... More

Walk down Mulberry Street in Little Italy mid-afternoon, and you are accosted on the sidewalk fronting every eatery. That was our July experience for every place except Da Nico. No one beckoned us to try their food, but one glance beyond the darkened windows showed activity. Intrigued, we checked out the menu and decided to go in. Immediately, three white-shirted... More

My friend and I enjoyed a nice dinner here with good service. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and it was good ( not the best Chilean Sea Bass I have had but still very good). My friend had the pesto gnocchi and it was light and fluffy. I enjoyed my meal there it was a pleasant experience.

Been there a number of times over the years when we've visited NY. Thought we'd do the same again this year but we were in for a rude surprise. We turned up at 2pm-ish looking for a table for 6. Took a while for a surly waiter to come attend to us then, after disappearing for a while, told us... More

Enjoy traditional Northern and Southern Italian cuisine at Da Nico. The beautiful indoor dining room is a favorite among movie stars, New York Yankees and former Mayor Giuliani. The casual, family-friendly atmosphere welcomes you to dine on "The Best Coal Brick Oven Pizza," or one of the delicious items on the menu. Specialties include lobster fra diavolo, baby lamb chops and veal chops. Call for the day's specials. During the summer, Da Nico features a large outdoor garden which doubles its normal seating capacity. Da Nico is also available for your private parties. There are many keys to having a great dining experience. With that in mind, consider Da Nico the master locksmith of Little Italy!

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
