This restaurant is amazing. It's a family oriented restaurant, love the ambiance. All plates feed 2 to 3 people. The meatballs are the bomb!!! I always go when I visit NYC.

We had the best time here, all the drinks we tried were so good! We had the meat sauce and the chicken scaloppini was the best. Like I would eat that everyday if I could, we got it on angel hair pasta. If you do anything in NYC go here. Make sure you get reservations though other wise, you will... More

I made a reservation for 11:30PM. The reservationist warned me the the restaurant closed at 12, which I thought it would still be ok because we would be seated before the place closed. Let's start with the zucchini app. If there was more than maybe half a zucchini and not all fried pieces of batter, it would have been great.... More

We enjoyed the restaurant so much we went in it 3 times. Dishes very well served, service efficient, food good with fair price. There are people from all over the world in this Italian restaurant. It is worth checking.

Just really solid and good Southern Italian food. Only drawbacks are that it can be a little frenetic and loud.

This a great place for groups, the bigger the better. Each plate serves at least four people making the meal affordable. And the food is good red sauce Italian. It's noisy but that's part of ambiance. Massive salads and big pasta dishes plus lots of meat choices.

Went here for a business lunch with six other guys. Excellent food, excellent service, pleasant atmosphere. Between the seven of us, we only had three family style plates: Caesar salad, penne w/sauce, and veal parmesan. All were excellent (especially the croutons in the salad!). The bar looks exceptional - I wish I could have stopped there for a beer or... More

If you're hungry then Carmines's is the place for you. The menu offers a full array if traditional Italian fare. We were there as a group of 50 and dinned following our visit to see the Rockets at Radio City Music Hall. The folks in line at the door were not thrilled when we strolled in past them. Reservations are... More

Went here with friends, service and meals were excellent. We went for "family dining" which meant main orders were placed for everyone to try. Best meal of our trip

Description
Carmine's simple and very popular concept is to serve every meal in the style of an Italian American wedding feast - which means large portions of home-style antipasti, pastas, seafood and meat entrees served on large platters designed for sharing. And when we say large, we mean large. An entree here could easily feed three to four average eaters. Located in a sprawling, former grand ballroom on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, this is the original Carmines. Designed by Peter Niemitz, the interiors evoke the images of the quintessential New York restaurant. With elements and details from the 1920s to the 1940s, the restaurant has the look and feel of a place that has been around for much longer than it's 1990 opening. If you are in the market for freshly prepared family style Italian food that is served in huge portions at reasonable prices, this is the place for you.
