We came to Daniel to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. It was a magical evening of cuisine, service and attention to detail. The price fixe allows for a sampling of a range of delicacies; the little treats of amuse Bouche were delightful. The birthday dessert treat was the icing on the cake. The service is extraordinary-- they anticipate your every... More

In spite of the fact that there were lots of security meaning, secret service, private body guards,NYPDs etc, people/ dignitaries were dinning there, we were not intimidated nor bothered. We were there because of our 29th wedding anniversary and our son planned this. This was the old Le Cirque. We were greeted like a long lost friends. the service was... More

We went to celebrate our 25 anniversary and I can say it was an unforgettable night. From the perfect concocted cocktails to the delicious appetizers and main course. The incredible collection of great wines and the impressive service. The ambiance, impeccable. If a give only 4 stars is because I think the staff should be more relaxed and not overdoing,... More

Pls book in advance . Prepare to pay $200 to $300 per head . I opted for vegetarian pre-fix 4 course dinner . It really fills you up so go hungry . Staff is attentive . The restaurant is very close to metro , about 5 min walk. Food is good , I have been to other tasting menus .... More

If you have a bucket list you must add this one onto your list. Some of the most delectable flavors and exquisite presentations for your food. The service is top-notch. I can see why this restaurant is rated as a 2-star Michellin. The portions are small but it's PLENTY of food. I had the four course option with the wine... More

A succesful blend of american cuisine hooked up on semi french stereotypes allowing excellent tasting and huge wine selection. Employees struggle with pronounciation of french namings and dont seem really to know what they are serving which creates a somewhat shallow and sterile atmosphere which is not matching the culinary experience...pity indeed...

Five couples spent a long weekend in NYC over Labor Day weekend to celebrate birthdays. We had the pleasure of dining at Daniel. I communicated with Elvir, the maitre de in advance of our visit. He was terrific as was everyone we met. Everything was perfect, the table setting, the customized menus, the personal greetings, the service, the food, the... More

I really liked the ambience at Daniel. The feel is refined private club. We were seated on the upper level, as a couple looking out, and it was a great place to view the restaurant. We opted for the 7 course tasting for $234, but note service is not included in the price. The other option is 4 courses, where... More

Equally as distinctive as the main dining room, The Lounge offers the same service and cuisine as our main dining room. Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
