My partner and I had been really looking forward to our dinner at Daniel's but, regrettably, we must say that we thought that it was nothing more than a nice meal, and there is little special about it. We had bread and butter to start...(delicious), our main dishes were the duck (fairly dull) and the burger (a rather mediocre and overloaded burger). Desserts were pleasant. The outdoor dining space is nice and neat, though it is an open sidewalk so passers-by are frequently walking by the tables. I believe the main problem was that we visited more than 12 Michelin-starred restaurants this summer and Daniel simply did not compare with any of them, both in terms of food quality and service (the latter, rather informal if friendly).More

So picture this. It's the height of the pandemic disruption, its the rainiest night in New York in a while and we have a party of 6 split into 2 tables of 4 adults and 2 teens due to COVID regulations. Plus picky eaters all....So many ways this could have been less than perfect but the folks at Daniel pullet it off seamlessly. When we arrived it was pouring and the sidewalk seating was overwhelmed. No matter. Within 5 minutes we were seated at tables close to each other to boot. The full bar was not open. No matter. We had an excellent bottle of wine and they made me a delicious caipirinha just the way I like it. The menus arrived and we ordered unhurriedly. Among other things were oysters, tuna, salads as appetisers and fish, beef and burgers as mains. Everything was prepared and served masterfully. Not a crumb was left over. I am just amazed at how unerringly and with grace and aplomb they pulled everything off. The experience was fitting for a top restaurant, in the best conditions rather than sidewalk seating, in wet weather in the midst of a global emergency. It's pricey but skip a couple of mediocre evenings elsewhere and go here instead; you'll be glad. Thank you all. We will be back frequently.More

Exceptional! Sea bass and beef combo were delish! Decent wines by the glass. Fluke and tomato salad were wonderful. Service was fantastic! Can’t wait to return!

Upon entering you are immediately greeted with friendly service and are made to feel as if you are apart of a special experience. You can tell that everyone takes pride in their exceptional service. The wagyu beef was to die for, and the restaurant itself...is a beautiful sight. Some may feel the portions are small but one can not deny how delicious the food is. Wonderful experience.More

Last night Daniel's was a 7 star Michelin Restaurant. I dined at the tables on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. In addition to the two stars Michelin has awarded the restaurant, Jean George Vongerichten, whose restaurant has 3 Michelin Stars and Christophe Bellanca, who has...earned 2 Michelin Stars for L'Atelier Joel Robuchon in NYC were both adding their stars by their presence at tables with friends and family. The food and service were excellent. Under the watchful eyes of General Manager Karim Guedouar, the staff did an extraordinary job of dealing with the restrictions due to the pandemic. I felt well protected and well served. The a la carte menu offered 6 appetizers and 6 entrees with an amuse bouche to start and a choice of 4 desserts, with prices quite reasonable considering the quality. In addition there was a special fixed price 3 course menu for Bastille Day week. The photos show the vegetable salad and the pate en croute, the Beef duo of steak and short ribs with potatoes, harcots verte and artichoke hearts, and a iles flottante with peaches in a lime flavored crème anglais and a berry tartlet with ice cream and an eclair for dessert. The beef was prepared exactly as ordered and everything was served at the appropriate temperatures. I highly recommend enjoying a night outside with Daniel. Tom BroussardMore

I've eaten here a number of time over the last 15 years and it never disappoints. The food and atmosphere are amazing. I suppose someone could argue it's a little ceremonious but to me I thoroughly enjoy it. First visit was for a rehearsal dinner...and they went way out of their way for the the bride and groom. Can't imagine what that would have cost... ;) If it's your kinda thing don't leave without trying the Foie Gras.More

Bought my daughter for her birthday dinner. Friday night. 6.30 pm. The food is amazing. It’s not cheap - but it’s not bad value for money. The waiters were a mixed bunch. One guy (central American abstraction I guess) was lovely. Another guy (white) was...totally annoying and we both wanted to kill him. The dining room is perfect. Wine is ok. Very very nice little touches like a copy of what we ordered and a little birthday cake for my daughter.More
