Where to eat in New York? Checked out pizza restaurants on Tripadvisor and decided on this one as it was close to our meeting point on Times Square. Group of sailors of the Clippers and friends of the same, so looking forward to some ''normal'' non-yacht cooked food! What a find - the building alone is worth seeing. We had... More

The food is out standing, the owners are by far the very best people I had the privilege to know and work for, and they "SERVE THE BEST PIZZA IN THE WORLD", This I know for a fact. those of you people that are going to visit NYC, you have not experienced NYC if you did not or have not... More

Absolutely loved it here. Loved how they have made this place into a restaurant, the decor is beautiful. The pizzas were fantastic and huge. The price was also great value. Well worth a visit. The pitchers also go down very well.

This pizzeria is located in a former church, so the decor is very unusual. Less is definitely more here--we stuck with just a plain cheese pizza--so simple and absolutely delicious! The thin crust and just the right amount of sauce and cheese--this pizza will live on in my food memory bank for a long time--hopefully for eternity! Don't know if... More

Absolutely fabulous! As we were walking around NYC my husband said he needed some "real" NY pizza so we were on a quest. We were lucky enough to stumble upon John's. It was packed but we were seated immediately. The staff is very efficient. We ordered a pizza with onion and 2 sodas. It did take about an hour to... More

Pizza was great and authentic! Lots of options of toppings, but definitely think less is more. We also tried the buffalo wings and baked vegetables for starters, which were both very delicious. Service was great. Definitely worth the wait!!!

A waitress at a nearby restaurant told us to go here...the building/history is very interesting, the pizza is amazing! Will come here whenever I am in NYC!

My daughter chose John's to eat at. I had no idea it used to be a church. The atmosphere is excellent with a stain glass ceiling and 4 brick ovens for the pizza and appetizers. We enjoyed the garlic cheese bite appetizer and 2 pizzas. So so good! Highly recommended and really close to Broadway plays at Time's Square.

John's is a well-known name in NYC as one of the top New York style pizza purveyors. This relatively new location is located in a unique place -- a converted church with intact stained glass windows and ceiling. I still prefer the old location downtown with the "NO SLICE" admonition on the entrance awning. The pizza is very good, but... More

This was a great place to go after matinee play (but would be great anytime for lunch or dinner even when walking around NYC), we got right in and thinking one pizza would do the trick after devouring it, we order another :) Desserts were a must after looking at all the options. Everything was great, food, staff and décor.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
