I had been here once before, and had to make another trip uptown when I was on vacation in NYC to get some more of their fabulous apricot pastries. I don 't know the specific name of it, but it is triangular with an apricot filling in the middle. Heaven on Earth!

Quiet, friendly little pastry shop with seating inside and out. We were going to visit the church and a local told us about this terrific spot to stop and have some coffee and pastry. Alot of choices when you enter the shop and order. Drinks and pastry brought to your table and you pay when you leave. A nice place... More

This is the best pastry shop in Manhattan! Lots of delightful treats are waiting behind a refrigerated counter. My party arrived for breakfast, ordering an array of pastries, cookies, Danish, turnovers, Linzer, strudel and Stephania. The coffee is excellent. Staff is helpful and will provide more information about products if desired. Order at the counter, sit down in the quaint... More

Five (5) stars for the exquisite pastries (better than some I had in Paris, yes!), 5 stars for value. Unfortunately, 1.5 for service (walked away while processing my order; told me I did not order coffee, though I had paid for it; dropped coffee spoon on the floor while bringing it to me; talked over customers' pastries: who wants spit... We had the baklava and a custard dessert with coffee. It was fresh, delicious and the staff were friendly and kind.

Had a breakfast here finding a suggestion from a friend. It has been the best decision. Pastries here are delicious, coffee is very good and the environment is warm and quite.

This unassuming crowded cafe has not changed in the 30 years I have gone here. But the strudel cannot get better. Its incredibly good. And the coffee also. It can get crazy packed but in the off hours its a wonderful respite. When you go in, you order. Then you sit and are served, then you pay when you leave.... More

If you are into Bohemian cafes, with lovely paintings on the wall, amazing cakes, coffee refill and very warm and cosy atmoshere and a lot of buzz (the kind of place where people don't talk about the book they have just read but the one they are writing!) this is the place for you. Decoration also include a trompe l'oeil... More

This is everything I miss about being a student in New York. It is open from 7 to 11, the warmest, coziest place to wreck your eyes trying to catch up with that week's readings. The delicious pastries and the endless refills of coffee is always a bonus. I once spent 9 hours of my life in there, and I... More
