Admittedly I am not a dessert eater. But if ever I feel the need and I'm near the East Village, then I'm making my way over here!! The desserts are just delicious magic! Much like this Jack Daniel's bread pudding in my photo! Worth every ounce of cellulite!

We visited ChikaLicious on New Years Day for at little treat in the afternoon. And what a treat! The 3 course dessert menu was bag hit. We were lucky enough to get at seat at the counter, so we could see the plating of all the desserts. Everything was so pretty and mouthwatering. Very good service and pleasant staff. The... More

I lived in New York City for 4 years, and ChikaLicious was my go-to place to take visitors who wanted a special, yet affordable, New York experience. I first discovered ChikaLicious in 2005, and every visit has been outstanding. The price has also essentially remained the same. This review is for the 3-course dessert (not to be confused with the... More

We visited here on a recent trip to NYC. The bar itself is small and you should reserve a table, which we did but ended up sitting at the bar. There isn't a great choice on the menu given that they only serve desserts, but we all found something we liked the look of. Desserts were small, flavoursome but lacking... More

Went back again! When you get there they always have a line. It moves fast as they are incredibly efficient! After all it's only dessert and how long can that take. Once again the owner took our order and brought out the main course. Yes, I said main course (dessert yay!). First they bring you a chef special tasting, then... More

Worth the walk! Got the Nutty Professor Churro Cone and it was the perfect dessert after a fine Georgian meal at Oda House! First time paying $10 for an ice cream cone but I think it was worth it...cone is made out of churros, lined with sweetness, filled with ice cream, then topped with more goodies to add a bit... It is great experience to have dessert three course with wine pairing. It is a place where must visit if you are sweet teeth. I was so impressed with Fresh and creative dessert.

Have the best ice cream in town with a churro cone. Its a little pricy for what it is but worth it. There was a long waiting line as seems like it's a popular spot in the later afternoon evenings. There are only two places to sit inside so not really a place that you go to sit and relax.

It was just as amazing as everything else on the menu. One downside they no longer have my favorite cookie. That everything but the kitchen sink cookie was one of the best things I ever ate.

I am a trained pastry chef and I have the highest standards when it comes to 'something sweet'. I can never be impressed with dry and unoriginal desserts such as cupcakes and icing-covered cakes. This lady chef has reached a level of sophistication that marries the French refinement and Japanese innovation. In my opinion, it is by far the best... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
