Nobu has been around forever, but its food is consistently excellent! Just ate there last week and it was as good as it was when it first opened. All of the food is excellent. The service great and the staff is very friendly without any attitude. The hardest thing about it is getting a table. Highly recommend if you can... More

My wife and I love sushi/sashimi so we went to Nobu with friends. The smartest thing I did was let my friends order for us- I ate course after sharing course that I never would have ordered myself. Yes the 1 sushi/sashimi dish was excellent, but all the other, more unusual creations were exceptional. The most creative and delicious Japanese... More

The service is excellent, but the reason you go is for the food which is INCREDIBLE. Nobu is pricey, but so tasty and unique. All of the tuna dishes are fabulous, and definitely don't miss the sticky rice. The seasonal chef specials are usually out of this world, so definitely try one! I also love the rock shrimp tempura. When... More

I very much wanted to visit this well known restaurant as I am a sushi lover. Unfortunately I got disappointed as the whole experience left much room for improvement. It was very noisy. Although we booked days in advance thay made us wait for over half an hour. Food was greatly overpriced. The food itself was good but not great.... More

We snagged a (hard-to-get for Nobu) restaurant week dinner reservation thank to our hotel concierge and enjoyed a delightful dinner on a Sunday evening in August. We had our 4-month old son with us (who cooperating by sleeping through most of the experience) but this did not faze the staff who seemed happy that he was joining us -- they... More

Restaurant itself is very nice. But the food is too overpriced and some of it not even tasty. We tried a lot different dishes and the only one really amazing was miso cod. This one was the best I ever tried. Other than that - you can find much much better places in NY for the price you pay.

Restaurant is beautiful. Food was well done, but servings were very small and expensive. Got the beef skewer $21. Had 3 bitesize pieces of beef. Staff really pushed doing table sharing. Felt like we were being pushed to order more than we wanted.

There are several compliments that can given about the culinary experience we had last night. We were not rushed when making cocktail selections. They had a great selection of Japanese Whiskey. Some of us went with the 12 year hibiki. The staff was knowledgeable about the different seafood options. The presentation and taste of each piece of sushi was top... More

Went through quite a lot of different dishes and while there were a couple of standouts, quite a lot of the dishes were good but not great. I knew it was quite a pricey restaurant but not too bad overall. Not sure if the hype was warranted when compared to some lesser known NY restaurants that are cheaper and better.

Finally got to the original Nobu in Tribeca this past (holiday) weekend. It's been there 21 years so we figured we really should check it out especially since we were staying at a hotel less than a 10 minute walk away, and boy are we glad we went. Warm greeting upon entrance, very nice looking space, tables spaced enough so... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
