It is a machine. Food is good but waiter is useless so you must know what the food is like. Then you must tell them if you like spicy or no onions or such because the waiter is useless. The food comes fast but not a place to enjoy the food. Next time i think I will take out.

Overall good food; live Guacamole is the best part. Other than that usual Mexican food; could have been better for the price they charge Drinks come in very small size specially Margaritas --$14.00 for really small glass. They offer vegetarian menu but with very limited options so not sure what's special about their separate vegetarian menu; nice décor and average... More

We went as a family of four. the restaurant is big and spacious. The food was good, but not fantastic. The prices was i bit on the high side. Having been to fantastic mexican places in Texas, where prices are a third and the quality is about 10 times better we where a little disappointed, but this is NYC, and... More

Myself and 4 friends came here for lunch while shopping on Fifth Ave. Shared the guac nachos (which they have made fresh right next to your table) which was delicious, plus we all had our own meals, fresh lemonade and they gave us rice and blackbeans for the table. We were all so full by the end but completely satisfied!!... More

Love this place and its food. Especially love the Guacamole - made fresh at your table ;-) I have been there twice and each time had amazing food.

We went there for lunch. There was a lunch special at a cost of $33 per person (include tax). It included first course for your choosing - Guacamole or nachos. We've taken the nachos. We got a very big plate filled with nachos piled over each other, with cheese sauce and other tasty ingredients. For the main dish we could... More

I was expecting a bit more.... The space is really neat. Large, open, two separate dining rooms that are a bit different. Very active bar scene as well. The space is certainly the highlight of the place, other than probably the bar. Went with family of four. The food was decidedly average Mexican. We like our local places in NJ... More

Great selection of drinks and dishes at this more upscale (read: $$$) yet casual Mexican restaurant. In addition to the regular menu, they also offered vegetarian and gluten-free menus. The food was outstanding - queso fundido, shrimp tacos, chile poblano relleno were all hits. The corn was especially amazing. Not the best margarita ever for $13, but tasty enough. Very... More

We had an unexpected stop at this restaurant for dinner. The staff was welcoming, nice, and efficient, which is a good sign. We quickly got our food, tasty enough, I would say B+. The food had a high sodium content- too salty, especially, the rice and beans. In addition, there was something I noticed that could be improved. The tables... More

Rosa Mexicana took over the space that used to be "America". It is a huge space, nicely done but with little to no noise dampening, therefore very noisy. The staff is friendly and professional. Best is the Guacamole made at your table and served with a huge bowl of chips. Entrees are good but not great. One of my dining... More

Description
Just blocks away from Manhattan's lively Union Square, our third New York location provides a warm and vibrant setting for our award-winning authentic Mexican cuisine. Designed by David Rockwell and launched in October 2005, this stunning restaurant features architectural accents inspired by the late, famed Mexican architect, Luis Barragan. The internally illuminated electric-blue tiled water wall features cliff diver figurines and candles among the cascading water to separate the bar from the main dining room. Warm terracotta and yellow colors with hot pink accents are featured throughout the restaurant as well as traditional, one-of-a-kind Mexican crafts, fabrics and artwork. This combination creates the perfect backdrop for the festive atmosphere and innovative Mexican cuisine of Rosa Mexicano.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
