Small tables perfect for an excellent dinner with someone, although there were a few tables which looked like they could accommodate a larger number of people. Food was excellent, bistro fare with a good amount of options if you don't want to eat a steak frites or lamb chops. Service was very good, attentive but not too much. I would... More

The restaurant is a small cozy place to have excellent food and fine wine. The food menu is not very large but the food is great. They had wine tasting the evening we went. You can taste the wine and buy it by the glass or by the bottle. Their steak, mussels, chicken, lamb chops and duck are fantastic and... More

Le Bateau Ivre is conveniently located (on 51st Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue) next door to Pod 51 Hotel. They were busy and I did not have a reservation on the evening I ate there, however, they happily accommodated me. The food and wine was delicious and the service was great. No complaints at all about my visit to... More

While the food is good, the service is poor and worst of all they charge for refills of ice tea and coffee. Come on.... This is just a wacky error that needs to be fixed.

we went here on a Sunday. It was not crowded. I had the beet salad which was delicious. My husband had the paella which was loaded with fish. It even had lobster in it. He said it was fabulous. I had the mussels as an entrée and they were great. Our relatives had the steak with pommes frites. They really... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience. We did not have reservations but they were able to accommodate us. We were there on the early side when it was less crowded. It was full by the time we left.. Very small neighborhood feel restaurant. Food and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend!!!

My husband and I were staying at the Benjamin during the snowpocalypse and wanted to get something delightful within walking distance at the height of the storm. Luckily for us this remarkable little place, with its ginormous French wine list and small but excellent menu, was just perfect. It is adorable and cozy, with a handful of tables, and a... More

Wine list is extensive. If you come early, you can have street adjacent dining. What's there not to like??

Le Bateau Ivre is a French cafe/neighborhood joint. It has great atmosphere and typical French cafe food. Nice wine list. The food is nothing special, but not bad.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
