On weekdays there is a $5 dollar menu available. I had the kani salad (crabmeat), beef negimaki and shrimp scampi ravioli. Washed it down with Japanese Asahi beer...hmmmm Good! Don't know why the place wasn't more crowded but the service was excellent.

The atmosphere and location are perfect and the food is wonderful. Staff is friendly and everything comes out quickly. Second time eating at Totoya while visiting family at Sloan and we will continue to come back!

This Japanese restaurant has been here for over 20+ years and I recently went back here and found it to be just as good as when I use to c ame regularly with my wife and family. It has been renovated and appears even nicer than I remember, with a darker setting. Beer or wine during happy hour was only... More

Always order from this place, it's not cheap but they have the best japanese food. The gyozas and the sushi are great.

We came across Totoya because it was a block from our hotel and what a find! Extremely reasonable prices (meal with appetizers and drinks for four came to $120), fresh, flavorful sushi, bento boxes that we couldn't finish and such attentive, friendly service! Be sure to try the sparkling saki, which went so well with the sushi. The only thing... More

20年以上前に近くに住んでいた時よく来た。周辺の店はすっかり変わってしまったのに、トトヤは全然変わっていないことがすべてを物語っている。Box specialがセットでオススメ。 When I lived near the Totoya more than 20 yrs ago, I had been visiting here so frequently. Totoya is still there, you know what it means. Japanese would recommend the Box Special as a dinner.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
