I don't even live oysters but these were great. The 9.99 special was 6 blueprints and a beer. $2 upgrade for a craft draught. And the salmon and tuna tare tare was great as well. A whole range of craft beers and other fish items. Fun place!!

This cute, bistro-style restaurant is a small gem in a great neighborhood. The long, narrow space houses a bar and several tables. It is cozy, comfortable and inviting. The service is fun and friendly! We enjoyed the oysters, shrimp cocktail and a dozen hard shell crabs. All of the seafood was fresh and flavorful. We also had terrific French fries... More

We dropped in to Fish on a Thursday evening before a show at Barrow Street Theater (try and see Sweeney Todd there if you can!). Fish had a deal on six oysters and a glass of wine for 9 or 10$. Lovely fresh oysters. My date had a tuna burger nicely done. I got the grilled calamari. As remarked by... More

We loved this cozy place a bit off the beaten path. Amazing fresh oysters and service was spot on. One of our best restaurants we visited in NYC.

Like the name of the place -- "Fish" -- the restaurant, itself, is plain and unpretentious. The food, in contrast, is simply delicious. The Raw Bar is reasonably priced (for NYC), and we enjoyed the "Red, White, and Blue" for $9.99, which consists of six blue point oysters or six little neck clams and a PBR beer or glass of... More

We wondered past this restaurant on the way back from a days shopping and it immediately caught our attention due to how popular it looked, so as seafood lovers vowed to return to it the following evening. We got the last remaining table at 2100hrs on a Friday night but people weren't waiting longer than 30-45mins when we were there.... More

We had a nice dinner at this place. We took a seat on the bar and enjoyed the fantastic oysters. Lobster and red napper was also very good. Real good expirience!

We ate well at Fish on Bleeker St. The menu is extensive and offers some great grilled fish. I had the Dorade and my wife had the salmon. Both excellent. The wine list was extensive but pricey so I stuck with a pint of Guinness which was perfectly served and matched my fish well. Service was friendly and spot on... More

After a hectic day on the Hudson River, dinner beckoned and naturally my desire turned to fish. This restaurant is in a buzzy part of the West Village, just off the main drag. It is very welcoming and offers counter and table sittings. We started with 1.5 dozen oysters (Blue Point from the East Coast and Kumamoto from the West... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
