Mogador cafe does not pride in its looks, but unbeatable with the food they serve. If you love brunch, here is the place that serves great cuisine to satisfy your hunger. I however love the Moroccan dish - lamb with rice. Lamb is perfectly seasoned and slow cooked so that the herb flavors and juices blend nicely. Try mint tea... More

I much enjoy many kinds of food but not very familiar with Moroccan cuisine. A few previous experiences were positive but not memorable. But Mogador Cafe made a lasting impression. Everything we ordered tasted very good and had distinct authentic flavors, in my admittedly novice opinion. I was most impressed with Cucumber Yogurt among appetizers and Lamb Shank Tangine among... We were recommended to come here by our tour guide. This place did not disappoint. Every dish was magnificent and jam-packed full of flavour. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and efficient - she recommended a fantastic Italian wine which was thoroughly enjoyed by our party of three. This was a great way to cap off our final night in New... More

Brilliant middle eastern restaurant. Just as good for breakfast as for dinner. Sit outside if the weather's nice. Always reliable and great food.

Sometimes service just falls to the waist side when it becomes just maintaining the turnover. It's too bad. Breakfast sandwich was fantastic as usual (only served between 11:30-4). My friend's dish lacked. Coffee is always good quality with steamed organic whole milk. Thank you! Hosts were too busy chatting about their boyfriends to say good bye and our server left... More

Favourite breakfast and coffee stop on the LES. Good enough coffee, great fresh breakfast options and mostly friendly staff. I can't seem to go wrong with this place.

A great spot indeed? A perfect low key NYC restaurant. Great service, awesome dishes, perfectly prepared and beyond delicious. Highly recommended. They do not take reservations on weekends.

I've been to Mogador Cafe twice with my daughter and enjoyed it both times The food, service and atmosphere is good and worth a visit if you want a casual and tasty meal in the East Village. Try the appetiser platter, felafel and tagine.

We were doing the East Village on a really hot day this august and the Cafe Mogador was like an Oasis for us! In the heat we didn’t want too much so we ordered some humus and a Greek salad each. Perfect choice, fresh and tasty it really hit the spot Friendly staff and a nice cold beer, it was... More

This café has a branch in Williamsburg with a happening bar and excellent service. But the East Village location offers indifferent service, at least for patrons who may dine alone. The Moroccan fare was good, but a bit overpriced.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
