Midtown can be tough place to find a solid lunch that's affordale and tasty. Traditionally, I would usually question a buffet-style dining experience. With those reservations, I think that Chola really has a solid all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. It’s $14.95 for Midtown Manhattan is pretty decent price. Upon entering Chola, it is a little dimly because it is a long narrow... More

Chola is a great Indian restaurant. The restaurant recently redecorated as well. My husband and I and friends have been going to Chola for many years. It's our favorite Indian restaurant in NYC.

We stayed at Ivy Terrace (lovely place) and this was right up the street. On a whim my husband and I stopped in here and had one of the best Indian meals we've ever eaten. It was fabulous! Highly recommend this place!

The appetizers are great. Especially the fried okra and lemon chicken. The staff was courteous which was the best part.

The food here was excellent! One of the best Indian meals we have had for a long time. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

Excellent choices for a meat eater. Get here at noon and enjoy at leisure. As usual, dosa and tandoori chicken at the table. No uttappam at the table this time. Naan served at the table too. The spread this time had pani puri, chicken biryani, idli, vada, sambar, chicken tikka masala, three veggies, gulab jamun, kheer.

This restaurant is always crowded for their buffet lunch. Went there this afternoon for the lunch buffet. I was lucky and was seated immediately. The lunch buffet had several vegetarian dishes as well as some meat dishes. This time vegetable samosa was part of the buffet. Chicken tandoori is served at your table but the only selection is the drum... More

Amidst a wider choice of Indian food in Manhattan, This place on 58th Street disappointed. They offered a menu of Indian food surprisingly some named after persons (nothing wrong in that) As vegetarians we expected a minimum taste of Indian food... north or south..but found it just not Indian... mangalorean names didnot represent the multiethnic mangalorean taste. Expected better.

Like wandering through a spiced market, with cardamon, clove , coriander or cumin wafting beneath your nose. The dining room , (as I'll refer this restaurant as ) was softly lit and homely. I sat on a table by the entrance , admiring the dried spices placed by the bar , clearly for decorative purposes but it oozed authenticity. This... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
