Three MICHELIN Stars: Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey!
Luxurious restaurant; one of our most delightful places.
Opened in 2004, Per Se is Thomas Keller’s acclaimed New York interpretation of The French Laundry in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle. Designed by Adam D. Tihany, Per Se features a serene and intimate environment with spectacular views of Central Park and Columbus Circle. The restaurant is Chef Keller’s second three-Michelin-starred property featuring his daily nine-course tasting menu and a nine-course vegetable tasting menu using classic French technique and the finest quality ingredients available. An award-winning wine list, boasting more than 2,000 bottles, complements the menu. The list highlights a collection of older wines as well as wines from small producers that are released

Eight courses, $355/person including service, and excluding tax, supplements, and drinks. Supplements were foie gras ($30), pasta w truffles ($150) and Waygu beef ($100). Some were outstanding. My favorite were the caviar and oysters (Oysters and Pearls) and the quail "sushi-like" dish. Not so hot...on the Lobster Boudin (lobster mouse) or the foie gras (mouse). I would have preferred the lobster to feature real pieces of lobster and the foie gras itself to be less mousy and more flavorful. I think the fpie gras was intentionally lightly flavored blend more subtly to go with the other ingredients). Deserts were pretty strong across the board. Listen, this is beautiful and very elegant restaurant. It just doesn't knock it pout of the park on all courses. I was looking for more bites of wow. I would not rush back, but would go again, another time, another season. The service was excellent. Definitely three star there. I think the ingredients were also 3 star.More

This is a long overdue review. Our family went to New York in August of 2019 to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. I had planned a special dinner for him at Per Se. When I made the reservation, the response from the restaurant was very...accommodating and considerate as our daughter was going through some allergy investigations. They were very thoughtful of her health, but also wanted to ensure that our family would be able to have a full experience of the tasting menu. The day of our reservation, we were delayed due to heavy traffic, but the staff were gracious enough to hold our requested table by the window for us. We knew it was an auspicious start to a great culinary experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We had a generous evening of 11-12 courses - one of which was the tagliatelle with a copious amount of truffles. The children loved the soft cocktails that were made for them. The attention to detail is on an unparalleled level. Service was exceptional - it was very professional, but also very personable. We enjoyed our interaction with Sandra - who, at the end of the evening, invited our family on a tour of the kitchen. My husband had a wonderful 50th birthday dinner. Thank you Per Se!More

What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this three Michelin star, Relais & Château, world renowned restaurant. The team was on point all night long, some of them even referencing my blog during dinner service and spoke with a gentleman who worked...at the Ledbury in London. Everyone was very friendly. Very cool to get a tour of the kitchen. Perhaps a tad bit pricey for the food itself, but I suppose you’re paying for the experience - and their rent. One thing that I’m disappointed with is that some items were repeated from my meal at the french laundry from 3 years ago. I understand that they are Chef’s staples, but still, he can create a different staple for different locations, can’t he? Definitely a bucket list restaurant checked and enjoyed!More

My husband and I have been coming here for years. I brought my daughter to NYC in Feb for her 16th birthday. We ate in the salon. I had had a cocktail there last time I was there that was no longer on the menu...and I described it to them and they made it perfectly. I am not a big drinker so finding a drink I love is challenging. My daughter loved it, too! (Not the drink. The restaurant). I promise to come back when all the craziness is over! The service is outstanding.More

We have dined at several of Thomas Keller's restaurants. We tried the French Laundry when they were still under re-construction but over-all, I think I liked Per Se much better than French Laundry. It was a wonderful dining experience. The truffle kept flowing and flowing...on the mac and cheese...just amazing...and the staff there was pleasant to have conversations with ... but not intrusive...I look forward to dining at Per Se again...and again...More

I came back because it made such a great impression on me. Unfortunately, this time around, it wasn’t as good as my first visit. I left the restaurant a bit disappointed. I had the chef’s tasting menu with supplements of black truffles, osetra caviar and...seared foie gras. The supplemental dishes were very good. The main dish which was lamb wasn’t as good. Maybe I had such high expectations that it was inevitable to get disappointed. Anyhow, the service was still excellent. I had the pleasure of working with Alex and Rashi. Both provided service with genuine smiles. Alex had a great PR and made effort to get to know the guest. That’s a big plus and so I gave an additional tip while his service made an impression. He also offered to take me to the kitchen which was very sweet. I enjoyed seeing the busy kitchen and meeting the Executive Chef. It was another nice experience.More

Our experience and meal was way beyond excellent. The service at every point of contact was immaculate. The food of course was heavenly. We celebrated a 52nd birthday and just had a superb time. The 3 star rating is absolutely well deserved. It’s certainly the...place to celebrate an important occasion. I am sure we will be back. Clearly one of the top restaurants in the world!!More

At the risk to sound too cliche, this was probably one of the best Michelin-star restaurant that I'd ever been. It deserves all the superlative and fantastic reviews it receives. From the reservation to the reception, going through the service during the 5-course tasting dinner,...to dessert, everything was perfect. We went to celebrate my 50th birthday, and they even printed the menu with a Happy Birthday title with a signature from the Chef. But this was a small detail, compared to the overall gourmet experience we had. All the courses were meticulously explained (we opted for the regular menu with no additional cost). The menu is so spectacular, one would wish for more every time one course finished. Taste the dishes with no rush and really enjoy the experience, this is my suggestion. One small doubt we were left (and this could be our ignorance on the matter) is that they didn't have in the dinner course the "sorbet palate cleanser" that for example we experience in other restaurants. Not sure why. Nevertheless, the food is from heaven! Everything was in the perfect amount, no less, no more. This is a place to keep in the memory for a long long time. Kudos!!!More

Per se is a special restaurant. Not only do they have delicious food, the service is top notch. My second visit was the most memorable one. We went to NYC for my baby-moon. We didn't tell the restaurant that I was pregnant upon booking the...reservation. I did tell the server when we arrived that I didn't want to consume any raw or undercooked dishes. They were very accommodating. After finishing the perfect meal, the server dropped off a little box that I thought was chocolate to go until I opened it and was pleasantly surprised to see a little Per Se onesie! It was very thoughtful of the staff and I still share this story with all my friends. Will definitely go back and highly recommend this restaurant.More

I had the pleasure of dining twice before at Per Se, and was delighted to be able to treat my mum to the 5-course tasting dinner in the Salon (we had a wonderful table faced with a huge window) on Feb 13, and for the...first time helmed by Chef Corey Chow. Didn't miss a beat -- all 5 courses were sublime. My absolute fav was the oysters and pearls - little wonder Per Se is famed for this. All paired with the FX Pichler Riesling followed by the Rioja Alta Rioja Gran Reserva 2010 for the red meats. Incredibly, we had a mini-macaron filled with black sesame as an acres - which works so well -- who would have guessed? We'd love to return over and over again.More
