This is a super place, well hidden with a narrow entrance. The sushi is great and the service is excellent. Definitely worth a visit. Located just 50 meters from 5th avenue.

Great sushi at very reasonable prices. High quality and better than many more expensive places. A broad selection of sushi, sashimi, rolls, tempura etc all freshly made to order. My children enjoyed watching the sushi chefs prepare their meal at the counter.

Really good fresh sushi at very, very reasonable prices. Have been here several times and it's always good. Make sure that you get the Yellowtail collar, unusual and awesome!

This place has friendly service, reasonable prices and has pretty good nigiri and sashimi. The best part is that even during lunch, in the middle of midtown, it never gets TOO crowded because they have plenty of seating and sushi bar for those dining along for a quick bite. Definitely worth a trip if you are looking for some sushi... More

A great little restaurant offering a good selection of Japanese favourites. The sushi was great and the sashimi was excellent quality. The portions were generous for Japanese. All up great service and friendly staff.

We tried Sushiya for dinner, during the holiday season. Despite the crowded period and the central location (5th Ave., just a couple of blocks far from Times Square) we found the restaurant almost empty; which, together with the basic arrangement, gave the feeling of a dull atmosphere. Service was quick and effective, but a bit cold and disenchanted. We had... More

Nothing more and nothing less. I had a business lunch with a Japanese client and the whole experience was underwhelming. The restaurant's main appeal is its central location. It is too noisy to have a proper conversation. The food is forgettable. My black cod starter was not marinated enough to have much taste. It wasn't blackened enough either. And the... More

Small place but has a good buzz, plenty of human traffic. tables are pretty small but there is a sit up sushi bar too. not quite authentic Japanese, but service was quick and the menu is large. the crab steamed dumplings were great. prices reasonable for this part of town and it was easy to dine as a single or... We ordered the sushi sashimi combo for 3 ... it did not fill us and we left after 3 appetizers and the combo still hungry but not willing to order more since the bill with drinks was $140... 1 hour later we ended up going for a slice of pizza. This was my favourite place when I lived in NYC...... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
