I had talked about Teppanyaki cooking to my wife, so while in NYC that has everything we searched for it and found Benihana. More of a show than a meal, great fun, but also very good food, fresh tasty prawns and meat cooked right in front of you and it’s obvious that they are using good quality raw materials

Party of 8 including four teenagers and everyone found something they liked on the menu. Food was of good quality and tasty and having it prepared on the table was fun. The chef was likeable and played up for the kids but service was less than stellar. A second round of drinks seemed to be an inconvenience for our waiter... More

We went to Benihana with our 3 young children and it was a big success. I had some reservations after reading poor reviews but luckily our experience was great. It is not fine dining but doesn't pretend to be. Service was quick and efficient, the children loved watching the cooking and the food was decent. You have to go as... More

Children wanted yo try during visit to New York. Booked however didn't sit still table and get a chef yo cook good until almost an hour later- no apology. On arrival greeting was unfriendly nobody asked if we'd been before or knew how it worked and we were given wrong menus . Sociable meal as you sit with strangers if... More

We were a party of 3,and were seated at a table with 6 other people. The tables are meant for 8, and it was not comfortable. At the end of the dinner, after a long wait since our waiter was busy with another table, we were offered "green tea". The waiter afterwards said he meant "green tea ice cream", but... More

Benihana means fun and excellent food! I love to watch the chefs, how they cook, how they make fun, and how they nearly perfom magic. The food was great, we enjoyed a 6-course-meal for an appropriate price. For us Swiss people, the AC was too strong. But we should know this in advance... ;-)

Honestly it is not my favorite place to go. However my two daughers love all the tricks during food preparation, so we visited this restaurant in NYC. Basically the same thing of any other Benihana and the same seat to have dinner with strangers that does not help me to feel more comfortable with the place. Good service, as standard.

Letting people know that sometimes the so called 90 minute experience ends up being almost 2 and a half hours! So plan accordingly and give yourself time to get to your next event. We had 8:45pm reservation (we got there about 15mins early) and got seated 20 minutes late. Then we sat there watching the table across from us have... More

I went with three other coworkers for a midday lunch. The place was pretty empty when we got there. I got the steak and lobster tail and a margarita. The margarita was actually fantastic and had quite the kick to it. The whole experience was pretty hilarious and was a lot of fun. I thought the lobster tasted excellent but... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
