Love this place for a quick lunch. Reliably delicious sushi. I wouldn't recommend the teppanyaki, but the rest of the menu is worth trying.

The food is always lovely but the night we ate it was apparent there was a lack of staff. Even though we had reserved a table at 5.30 we were still waiting to order at 6.30 and had not received our drinks. The servers who were serving worked hard but there was just not enough of them to go around.

A rare teppanyaki experience. Our table was 1 person short so not too crowded. The noise was a little much when the chef started, lots of metal on metal. A good choice of options on the menu. The set menu's all included steamed rice, but everyone had fried rice, at an extra cost. I wonder how many don't opt for... More

Ever since becoming addicted to Volcano rolls at Sushi Shiono in Kona Hawaii I've been searching for as good a fix. Got it today in spades at Benihana NYC thanks to Ono and the Benihana network's head chef. Delicious with lots of surprising subtle flavours. Thank you. And thanks for my wife's spicy shrimp too!

On a girlie weekend to NYC . Having been to other Benihana's before and had had a great time thought it would be a fun experience for friend who had not experienced this or hibachi before. Really disappointed . Each Hibachi is in an individual booth so you can't enjoy the atmosphere apart from the other diners who you do... More

Obviously the prices are more expensive because it's in New York, but also had crazy waits every time and terrible service. I love Benihana.. but not in New York.

It was extremely hard to understand our chef as he read back our meal options, he did not do any extraordinary tricks (as I expected), or win me over with his charm, but my daughter enjoyed the evening and that was worth the trip and money.

I have been to Benihana a couple of times in Abu Dhabi, and it was superb. So I booked for some friends to go in New York on my birthday. The difference is huge. We had to wait in the bar for 10-15 minutes whilst our table became available - no big deal - and we shared it with a... More

My friends and I came here for lunch on a Saturday. We ordered from the lunch entrees and we were a party of 4. The chief was very entertaining and funny. It took a while for him to come at out table but we wasn't in a rush. Once he started it was fun. The food was delicious and my... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
