We came for our 7:45 reservation and we were seated at 8:45. Do I actually need to say anymore? With thousands of restaurants to go to in Manhattan, you don't have to go to this one.

Used to visit often in the past with average satisfaction. Now a tourist trap with dismal service... After sitting at the table for more than 20 minutes with no attention whatsoever finally server/ cook arrived. No apology probably because place was filled with tourists who would not care. Nice cooking show but small portions i.e. overpriced. Extra portion of steamed... More

Made a reservation for 8:15; seated at 9:30, and then after being sent to a table with eight other people that only had 8 seats. Host just stood there; when we returned to the host station to indicate there were not enough seats for 9, the host motioned to a chair against the wall nearby. He indicated they seated nine... There's a lot of hype when it comes to Benihana, living in LA ive always been curious to check it out but never had friends that were eager for it....i can now see why. It was underwhelming and our chef didn't do anything exciting like they advertise, maybe it was just an off day for him because we saw other... More

My son and I go to Benihana to celebrate our birthdays which are 6 days apart. We had a 6:30 reservation and we walked in at 6:29. They gave us the little buzzer thingy with the lights to let us know when our table was ready. We ended up waiting 38 minutes before we it buzzed. The food as usual... More

We booked this restaurant for dinner a few days after Christmas because we wanted a fun dinner with the girls who love Teppanyaki. We read some of the reviews before making the booking about the disorganisation and some reviewers' experiences who had had to wait for long periods even with a booking but ignored them. We arrived at out booked... More

Food was very good, having said that we wanted to go for the tepanyaki but without a reservation we would have to wait over 1 hour, so if going for tepanyaki make a reservation.

We wine there with high expectations after hearing much about the story of Beninhana but was very disappointed with the overall experience. Th staff were very friendly and the chef was very entertaining but that's where the good things seem to stop. The food was pretty bland the drinks served were warm and we were shocked with end bill for... More

This is the second year in a row reserved dinner for our friends birthday....and once again Benihana didn't deliver, didn't have our reservation ready....we'll never come here again for Christmas which is unfortunate because we like it...just don't expect your reservation to be respected!

The service by our waiter was good, but the hibachi chef was so so. He didn't really seem much into it and kept making a lot of mistakes. The food was alright but nothing to write home about. Also they no longer offer yum yum sauce so in its place is this mustard sauce. It's very bland. I expected more... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
