If you haven't visited Il Tinello when you're in NYC you're missing out. This seems to be a hidden gem to locals and a review I almost hate to post because I love being able to get a table without waiting months! This is old world style Italian. They are authentic and the ambience immediately makes you want to drink... More

Great traditional Italian food. Impeccable service. Much like a bistro in Italy. Our go to place in midtown.

Convenient location, nice setting, pampered service, good wine selection. Desert was good but not to my taste. If in NYC have a meal and enjoy.

Il Tinello is one of the best restaurants we have tried in NYC, the service was outstanding, the food was far superior then many others we have tried and the value for the ambience, service and food was well worth it. I will definitely be back and you should add this restaurant to your list.

We had an absolutely lovely meal, fine old world service, quality well-prepared food, good pacing but the cost of specials were a license to steal (of course in NYC you don't ask) and wine prices embarrassing. Found a reasonable value Barolo for an ok price (many reds are 3-500/bttl) of 120, had a simple prosecco in rubbish glasses for 18... More

This is my favorite place to dine in NYC. The menu is great and you can get a good bottle of wine for about $100 to go along with a wide variety of food options. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is perfect for a quiet dinner. My only complaint would be around their plate clearing service. There were... More

My apologies in advance to the folks at Il Tinello, but we have never issued 5 stars to anyone. You're darn close. Your service, the ambiance, and particularly the meal were simply superb. Your staff was attentive but not overbearing which made for the perfect lunch with clients. Everything your team prepared and delivered was nothing but superb. I'll be... More

Terrific food, impeccable service, wonderful ambiance: Trifecta! Authentic Italian cuisine served by a professional wait staff that feels as though they were flown in from Italy that day. The hot and cold antipasti were perfectly prepared and bursting with fresh flavors ; Tortellini as good as any I've had in Bologna; Osso bucco that melts the heart. The ambiance in... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
