Nice, clean diner serving breakfast all day, delicious authentic Greek specialties like gyros and souvlaki, wait staff were very friendly, efficient, and accommodating. It was just a short walk from our hotel, so had we realized that it was open 24 hours, we probably would have made a 4th trip for a late night dinner when nearly everything else was... More

Really wanted to have a special NY diner experience but this was not the right place. Everything seems to be notched down just a bit. Instead of real maple syrup, you get a sticky bottle of Aunt Jemima. Instead of a piece of "real" ham with your eggs, you get grilled thinly sliced sandwich meat. Service was fast and efficient... The Skylight Diner is one of the few diners that has retained the old diner look, Art Deco style, lighting, booths, floor, counters, etc. it is a bright and clean place. The menu as with all diners is extensive, and you really can not go wrong with whatever you order. We stopped in for breakfast and everything looked so delicious,... More

We ate here for a second time on our most recent visit to NYC. The menu is very good and the food is good with massive portions. If you want a real diner atmosphere this is a good option.

After spending some time on the high line, we decided to leave and have supper in Manhattan. While walking back uptown, we saw the Skylight Diner on W34 Street and decided to eat there; so we went in and were seated immediately. The diner has a vintage atmosphere; but it’s very comfortable. The waitress was very courteous and the menu... More

Went for breakfast and I think the staff was still asleep. They may have been short staffed, who knows, but getting coffee filled was a chore. Ordered basic breakfast and it was nothing to write home about. It was close to our hotel so we decided to eat there.

When you're suffering from jet-lag and wake up at 4.30am feeling as though your last meal was a week ago, you really, really need breakfast at an old-fashioned 'proper' diner like the Skylight. Lovely, friendly service, good eggs and hash browns and endless coffee - perfect. And great retro styling. Loved it.

We decided to try out this place after reading the reviews on here. The service was friendly and welcoming, and there was lots to choose from on the menu. We had the omelette, which we couldn't fault. Highly recommended.

Ate at the bar, it was quick and I was in and out in 20 min. The breakfast was excellent and tasted great. The eggs were cooked perfectly and it made for a great meal.
