This was our next door resto when I was living in NYC. Lovely curry! Green and red are both delicious!

I live on Long Island, but was in the city for a conference in mid-town and went to Topaz for dinner with a couple of my work colleagues. I had the drunken noodles and my two associates had curry dishes. We all enjoyed our meals and cleaned our plates. I highly recommend this restaurant. If going for lunch

Topaz Thai is small with tight quarters but the food is worth it. Some of the spices were a little off like in the Tom Yum but it was still good. The mango salad and the deep fried tofu was great. Red Curry was also well-prepared.

We are not Thai officianados but this place was wonderful and not too spicy for the kids. We ordered things that were not labeled as spicy but at some places that still doesn't work. Everything we had was amazing. In the NYC spirit, they cram some tables in here but it wasn't uncomfortable. Pad Thai, fried rice, and pad see-ew.... More

This little resturant is cozy personable and has great food. I truly think the items are underpriced given the great taste and the presentation. The matre'd manages the tables experty, quickly finding room for folk when there looks to be none. I was alone and really marvelled watching him. He was very polite in finding room for me. The waitstaff... More

We wanted some good Thai and went to this place. The Bangkok fried rice was very good and our other dish was tasty. Could be hotter to the taste, but, we heated things up with Sambal. Reasonable prices also.

The food was good. The service was fine. The meal would be more comfortable if they removed a table or two -- it was rather crowded, or, if you want to put a positive spin on it -- we got quite cozy with our table mates. This may be standard for New York City, I don't know. Cost was good.

After our party of six was seated, Topaz was full at 9pm on a Monday night, with plenty of Thai being spoken. From the crackers, dips, sauces and pad Thai, to twists such as crispy duck curry, this was one of the best Thai meals I've had, period.

We were in New York for the Marathon and was look for a good Thai Restaurant and found this place just a block form our hotel. The food was good and price was not bad for New York. If you like Thai I would recommend.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
