Memories better than the reality. Mid week 6:30 dinner with business associates. Seated quickly but waiters, menu, orders chaotic. Requests for suggestions weak. Salads and apps served rushed, wrong and hot dishes served iced cold. Ehh. Mains also rushed and not exactly as expected. Wines were good. Expensive evening for mediocre.

I've been here a couple of times. It's the closest place to get a kosher steak to MSG. Each time I hope tha the previous visit was a fluke. Each time I am proven wrong. To start, the restaurant is incredibly dated. You go down a flight of steps to the basement and the entire meal, you feel like you're... More

We are quite troubled by your comments. If the steak is the only item you ordered, without an appetizer, it may seem to take a while to come from the kitchen. We are not a fast-food establishment. Each meal on our menu is cooked to order. We do not pre-cook our steaks, on the off chance that someone is in... More

Concierge recommended. We went to Abigails for dinner and loved it. We sat on the street, great location, and had great food. The service was nice and the atmosphere inviting. They have great selection of sandwiches and pasta. They customized the pasta according to our need.

Just ate here and we loved our experience. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. I had an issue with my entree and it was replaced without any questions asked. We had a nice long conversation with the director of ops while my food was being replaced. This restaurant is definitely a place I look forward to coming back to.... More

The food here is always fantastic. The ambiance is pretty upscale, but people are friendly and not snobby. Waiters are fantastic. The menu remains pretty static, so your old favorite is still there.

Always a sad reminder how limited competition and customers with limited sophistication conspire to relegate so many kosher restaurants to a state of overpriced mediocrity. This finished basement restaurant convenient to Times Square is clearly filling the room with kosher diners, but I found the windowless basement room charmless, the food outrageously expensive, and utterly uninspired. The $45 steak I... More

We appreciate the time you took to post your thoughts. We are troubled by your comments, as we usually get rave reviews from our kosher and non-kosher diners alike. Our two level restaurant is located in Times Square, with awesome views of the Broadway Promenade. The lower level enables us to have a Midtown Manhattan restaurant that can seat over... More

I pove the steaks at Abigail. I had the Brazilian steak and oit was done just perfect, the white bean soup was just spicy enough. And the best part was, that the restaurant was quiet and I could actually have a conversation with my son without shouting or excusing myself for not hearing him.

We met another couple there for dinner and good conversation and it was in a good location. Our server Elizabeth was very nice and the food is good, but expensive. The drinks were ok, but expensive. We went in for a nice meal last night and that's what we got! I'd never been in before and didn't have time to check out the menu first, but our server suggested the special arctic char with wild mushrooms and a lemon white wine sauce that was unbelievable. Very nice ambiance, waiters were attentive but not overbearing. Duck was just delicious although not as large a portion as I would have expected. Steak San Pedro was just awesome and so were the roasted potatoes. The outside on Broadway is undergoing construction, so it may appear they are closed, but don't let that stop you.

Thanks very much for the great review of Abigael's! We're delighted that you enjoyed your visit so much. The duck portion is half a duck~ breast, leg & thigh, fully boneless, so it may appear smaller that other restaurants; but that's because we've already de-boned it. We're very excited about the new face of the building and are looking forward... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
