Had dinner here on a Fri night with my sister, who is a strict vegan (I eat anything). What a fantastic place! First, the space is cool -- 3 open floors, like a loft. Modern, asian vibe. It was crowded (glad we made a reservation) but service was good. And the food -- oh my! I've eaten at vegan restaurants... More

We tried the trio tapas plate and Singapore noodles - there were no stand-out dishes and everything tasted "like vegan" food in that there were rubbery pieces of protein and flat, tough parts creating an odd texture. The noodles were slightly overcooked and has nothing beyond some Indian curry powder (the "lobster" was nowhere to be seen). The plum tea... More

We visited Franchia , having booked on line which was a very easy process with a prompt response. We requested a corner table ehich we recieved. The food was excellent and service was ok up until 9.30pm which was the time for last orders. Our check was presented to us when we had just finished our main course and didn't... More

The most amazing find in the centre of New York!! The variety of food to choose from is amazing and the food itself is so tasty (I especially recommend the Peking buns for starter)! We ended up going to franchia two nights in a row due to the great ambiance and kind staff. Was packed when we went in for... More

This place we found by chance, it is on Park Avenue at about 33rd street. I am not vegetarian by the way , but the food here is unusual and tasty and the restaurant interior and staff are wonderful. The food is Korean , so there is a good variety of soups, stews , and noodle dishes.....there are non alcoholic... More

Although we heard good reviews about Franchia we never expected the food would be this great! Both my wife and I are vegetarian foodies and experienced some of the best dishes we've ever tried. Apart from the highly recommended food, the service was nice and the restaurant was well presented. We cannot wait to visit again!

Before I get to the point of my review - let me start by saying that this is an excellent restaurant. its just atypical for a vegan place and a very welcome addition let me tell you, and everything you think about when you hear "vegan" is instantly challenged from the moment you walk in. I mean everything including the... More

Amazing! It was my first meal in the city and I couldn't have asked for a better place to eat. I got the vegan lunch box special and I loved it. I wasn't super fussy of the fake shrimp, but I didn't like shrimp when I did eat meat so that's not a criticism of the restaurant or chef, it's... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
