Extremely good food in a traditional Korean restaurant with a nice ambiance, attentive staff, and excellent food quality. The bibimbap with beef and mixed veggies over rice in a hot stone pot is a classic standby, as is the delicious bulgogi sauteed beef.

They do not serve a bbq selection like other Korean places. No real help from the waiter on what to order, he seemed bored and tired. we finally ordered the onion chicken which was good and the bibimpap with pork which was very blunt (even with plenty of their "not hot" salsa) and was very very hot and thus we... our daughter is Korean and we would like to share with her as many Korean experiences as possible. This is one and it is fabulous. If you are looking for shiny and glitzy go somewhere else. If you want the experience of authentic Korean food and time with your family go to Han Bat and you will feel as if... More

Having been to only one other Korean restaurant in my life, I'll admit that I had no clue what I was ordering--nor did my husband--but it was great. Waitress was very helpful, explaining which dishes were not too spicy, yet not "boring." Very authentic cuisine, as far as I could tell. After we ordered main courses, at least 8 little... More

My wife and I found the food to be enjoyable. The staff was pleasant and attentive. It is a great place to be with friends and family to enjoy a good meal and have a lively dinner conversation without concern of disturbing others.

I ate twice here in one day. Wide range of side dishes which were the highlight for me. The Bulgogi was of the juicy kind. Cold noodles very filling. Staff are very polite and give fast service.

The food was good but not excellent. A little blend and for the price they charged, I expected a little bit more autheticity.

Great place to meet friends or business assocaites for lunch in a convenient midtown location. Make reservations as it is crowded at lunch. Be sure to have the stone-pot bibimbop

Wouldn't travel out of my way but conveniently located near many hotels on W34th. Food was quite nice but they only serve bibimbap at lunchtime it would appear. It's not cheap but generous serves with a a selection of kimchi to start. Staff are very efficient if not a little pushy at times.

Enjoyed a nice meal at Han Bat with friends recently. The seafood pancake is crispy and delicious and generous enough for five to share easily. Dumplings were browned nicely and filled with savory vegetables. The small plates were fresh and appetizing the little cucumber pickles were particularly good. I've seen other reviews comment that the food is pricey but our... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
