I have been to this lovely restaurant many times and it has never disappointed as evidence last evening when we arrived for a 9:45 p.m. reservation. The restaurant was packed and people were lingering outside the front door. The ambiance is lovely, dark and serene....More

Hangawi combines great food and wonderful atmosphere. I keep forgetting that Hangawi is a vegetarian restaurant as the dishes feel complete without meat, not simply food served up as a meat substitute. The atmosphere of Hangawi is nearly perfect, from slipping out of our shoes...More

I wanted to like Hangawi, really I did. But there is so much there that just leaves me uninterested, that I can’t recommend it. I think what they do, they do well. It just isn’t for me. I had the avocado bibimbap. It was perfectly...More

What a great experience...beginning with the finely crafted wood decor and “leave your shoes at the front door” rule. I was blown away by the traditional feel (and my Family lived in Korea for 3 years). There was as much traditional attention to detail placed...More

My brother is keen on Asian food so we decided to try Hangawi for lunch. When we entered the restaurant we were asked to take our shoes off. The waiter seated us at a traditional low table on a pillow. He was very knowledgeable about...More

I love the kale pancakes, which come with a dipping sauce. A great appetizer to share and their porridge is always delightful.
