Last weeks 3 friends and I stopped in after a ball game . Two friends had steak - t bone and filet mignon , 1 had chicken and I had baked sole with 4 steamed clams. I was very pleased with my selection but I didn't hear any of my friends rave about their meals. Since my exposure to NYC... More

I'm retired from Wall Street, been to the best steak houses, The Old Homestead, Sparks, The Palm, Peter Luger. Keen's hands down the best. My Mary and I had dinner there last week before going to see Billy Joel. Had the porterhouse for 2, awesome, the food, service, atmosphere is awesome. It is quite pricey, but was our anniversary. Put... More

Our steaks and lamb were cooked to perfection, 2 of us ordered medium rare, one of us had rare. Meat was tender, great flavour, very delicious. The service was excellent, and our waiter, Mohammed, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. He made excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was great and we loved the history and display of... More

We went here for my birthday and it as usual, didn't disappoint! Mohammed was our server, a true asset and delight to work with. He made sure we were satisfied at every step of the meal. Speaking of, the salad was great, the filet mignon was perfection and the key lime pie was a real delight. Love celebrating my birthdays... More

We booked this restaurant for myself, 19 yo son and father on the recommendation of a friend from NYC. From the minute we entered the restaurant we were very well looked after. Staff were very attentive and discreet, no rushing you or disappearing when you need more water. The food was amazing and we all ordered different things from steak... More

My boyfriend and I chose to go to Keens for dinner for our last night in the city. We both agree it was the best steak we've ever had! Our waiter was very friendly and the service was quick. The overall atmosphere of this restaurant is amazing. Def a must go!

This place is definitely worth a visit. The Food is exceptional. Such good quality and loving tasting. It was our anniversary and they gave us a complementary glass of champagne. One small issue is some of the staff were a little pretentious. We had a drink before dinner and we gave a 15% tip ( as advised ) , made up of... More

I dipped in for a late lunch at Keens Steakhouse yesterday and felt more like I was in a museum than a restaurant! Beautiful late 1800s dark wood interior with oodles of historical bits and pieces on the walls and ceilings--including Currier & Ives prints, a bust of Lincoln, and hundreds of old smoking pipes mounted on the ceiling. Novel,... More

Description
Keens Steakhouse, a classic New York chophouse, was already famous for its steaks and chops at the turn of the century. Founded in 1885, Keens has 90,000 clay pipes that line the ceilings – pipes once smoked by customers after dinner. Today Keens legendary mutton chops and dry aged prime steaks are still without equal in the city.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
