We stopped in for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast menu. They really did have several things to choose from. The kids liked their omelettes and my husband said the pancakes and bacon were really good. Coffee was hot and strong. The place was relatively empty except for a frequent flyer who followed the waitress around talking to... More

We shuffled in here on our first day in NYC based on the recommendation of our hotel concierge and were very disappointed. I got a "pastrami sandwich" that was about as authentic as the chicken pot pie a fellow diner had. The service and fries were good, though no one really seemed to enjoy the food. It's a serviceable option... More

I had the fish and chips and it was excellent! Nice setting. I sat in the bar by the windows. It was not crowded when I was there.

We really liked it here, it was comfortable and the staff (all young Irish girls) were really friendly and efficient. We ate there yesterday and all enjoyed our food. They have drinks offers and specials for food. We watched sport here as well (euro's) & sat upstairs it was that busy and this was great too, loads of TV's, couldn't... More

Had a good pub meal at the Oldcastle Pub. Value for money and good portions. The staff are friendly and helpful. TVs going so you can catch up on your sport team playing.

On a recent trip to New York City, my wife and I stumbled on the Old Castle Pub & Restaurant (160 West 54th Street) on a wet evening, looking for somewhere to eat out, rather than stay in our hotel. We were glad we did. The place has a cosy feel, the staff are friendly, the drinks are good and... More

It's a great place to stop by and have a pint and grab a bite to eat. The staff is very nice. The food is a little heavy but it is pub food.

Little out of the way place near Times Square great happy hour specials and fantastic fish and chips, real cod. That's what we came for. Shepard pie is just ok. Beef not lamb and more like a stew. Don't miss the fish and chips. Great service.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
