We popped in for coffee and a bit of cheesecake that looked so tempting from the window display but the service was a wee bit slow (and grumpy) so when we left we didn't leave as big a tip as the waiter (manager?) would have liked so he told us we hadn't left enough (despite leaving 12%). As a previous... More

My husband and I had just finished one of the bus tours of Manhattan and when we got off, we saw the Benash Deli. Figuring it was a NY deli, it has to be good. BIG MISTAKE! A young male waiter approached us and gave us our menus asking if we wanted a drink. Since we wanted to look at... More

We had been to a show on Broadway and was just looking for a quiet place away from Times Square and closer to our hotel. Stumbled across this place, and decided to grab something quick here. Before we ordered I popped to the loo, 2 cubicles both absolutely disgusting, dirty, smelly, flys. The best part was the sign that read... More

We wanted to go to Carnegie Deli but they were closed-so we went to Benash Deli across the street. We bought 2 corn beef sandwiches to take with us on our plane ride home-boy, were we disappointed. First of all, one corn beef sandwich was about $18.00!! and you needed teeth of steal to bite thru the sandwich. It was... More

The waiter was angry because we didn't order alcohol. He dropped our food off on the opposite side of the table and never came back. I will never go there again.

Went for lunch and we had a meatloaf sandwich, buffalo chicken sandwich and a couple of drinks. The servings were very big, too big if anything and neither my wife or I were able to finish our sandwiches. No complaints about the food. The bill was $44-00. Tried to pay bill and tip with our credit card, but the waiter... More

Carnegie Diner was closed so on the spur of the moment let by a hunger pang we went across the street to BenAsh. What a mistake! Avoid this overpriced place with bad food and terrible service at all cost. Only the lady at the entrance was nice - the rest of it: forget it. We had a Ceasar Chicken salad... More

I stopped in for breakfast one morning, choosing this over several others within close distance. As it turned out, the prices were a bit higher, the quality a bit lower, and the service personnel less friendly. All in all, breakfast was fine, but it retrospect I should have checked out a couple of other places.

Only reason we came here was Carnegie deli was closed. Only wanted a single pizza as we were not that hungry but would not be able to get anything for the next number of hours. While we were told by the waitress of the charge it still blows chunks that this is even a policy. Personally we won't be back... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
