We did eat here a couple of times, portions large as you would expect, and also on the Saturday night very expensive. but the food was good.

We ate here twice for convenience; breakfast and a quick lunch before departure. Breakfast for two was $70 but I did indulge myself with eggs bacon potatoes coffee toast AND pancakes and maple syrup. Our waiter was a lovely man from Egypt who told us his story. At lunchtime we were pressed for time but they served us really quickly... More

We made the mistake of going into this Deli but made a quick escape. The service was appalling. We had to go hunting for a menu and then had to wait forever to be served. They weren't that busy at the time and we got fed up waiting. We went to the cafe attached to the Wellington Hotel across the... More

We dashed in to Benash because we were tired, in a rush, and did not have the time or energy to "search" for a quality dining option. We sat down, grabbed a menu, and I was immediately struck by how many options of different types of food was on the menu. That was a red flag...trying to do too much.... More

First, we must sincerely apologize on behalf of your server for his ill-advised request. That is certainly not the level of service we wish to provide. We have a large menu selection, however, to appeal to every palette, as we get a lot of out of town folks. As for your meal, we want to assure you that the NY... More

We were headed back to the subway and were hungry so just stopped in. It was raining outside so it was nice to be dry and warm. The staff were friendly, the place was clean and the food was yummy we had spag meatballs and motza balls soup. The price was not so great we paid $60 for two dinners... More

Lauren, while I'm glad your experience with us was delicious and relaxing, I am sorry if you found the price a little surprising. We want to assure you that the price is simply based off of the homemade and high-quality ingredients we use in each of our dishes. New York City is beautiful, but often pretty pricey for a meal,... I think the only reason people were eating in this deli was because it is across the street from carnegie deli and that is closed for remodel. Service was terrible, it took us 15 min to get waited on Food was terrible and expensive. Wish I had read trip advisor first.

We're very sorry you experienced slower than usual service when you came in to dine with us. As you mentioned, we're getting an overhaul from redirected patrons and so it's not the norm. We're constantly working to improve, though, and hope that you might give us another shot in the future to step up our game. Best, Benash Delicatessen More

I just love this kind of US places. This is what a breakfast should be like. Not perfect, just not strong coffee but a lot of it. Nice omelette, nice and friendly waitress. You can just be there for a while.

Set on the corner of 7th and 55th West, Benash gives an unwary visitor a foretaste of the neon candy that is to follow as one progresses west towards Times Square. The location is great and it does offer a quiet riposte from the hustle and bustle of mid-town Manhattan for a cup of tea and a slice of cheesecake.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
